After their kiss yesterday Jisung and Minho had spent the rest of the evening cuddling in secret and watching some anime.
The atmosphere had been calm and nice even if that pressing feeling in Jisung's chest wouldn't go away.

The fact that he was told the next morning that Hyunjin hadn't been found yet didn't make things better. The police was now searching for him...

Just as planned if that would be the case Jisung took the bus to Chan's apartment at noon after he finished his chores, helping Dahyun preparing lunch and asking Minho to let him go meet Chan even if he was supposed to work at the moment. Gladly, the older agreed with no hesitation. Minho was also worried about Hyunjin so he would not stop anyone from searching for their friend.

At the moment Jisung was walking up the stairs to the 3rd floor to ring the bell on Chan's apartment. It was quiet large for one person but he couldn't get lost in it like in the Lee Mansion.
After 3 minutes, still no one had opened the door so Jisung got curious. Was Chan maybe taking a shower or wearing headphones? Or the bell might be broken...

Jisung decided it would be fine to just go in since he often had done that in the past when he visited Chan. The older did give him his door code after all.
Quickly he typed it in and got inside the apartment.

"Chan?" He loudly asked but there was no answer. Yet it didn't look like Chan was gone because the coat and boots he usually had on were neatly placed next to the entrance.
Jisung proceeded to check in all rooms but there was no sign of him anywhere.
That was until Jisung took a closer look at the kitchen and realized something odd. A glass of something that smelled like pineapple juice was scattered over the floor.

"He didn't clean it up...?" Jisung wondered when thinking about any possible reason for Chan to leave a spilled over drink on the floor like this.
Carefully, he made sure not to step on the glass shards when something else suddenly caught his eyes.
It was something on the inner door knob of the entrance door that Jisung could see from where he stood.
He hadn't noticed it before but there were red spots on it... like someone had grabbed the door knob with a bloodied hand.

Jisung sank on his knees as the worst scenarios possible went through his head.

First Hyunjin and now Chan, someone had kidnapped them, someone had forcefully taken them and hurt them. Where they even still alive?!

"Everyone that has ever been good to me ends up hurt... they're all in danger, I- I" Jisung talked to himself trying to calm down when he suddenly imagined a scene in his head that send chills down his spine.

What if... the kidnapper was him.

"Jisung, honey? Can you go open the door. It is probably the man we called to fix our heating system. He said he'd come around this time." Jisung's adoptive mom shouted from the kitchen where she was preparing freshly baked curry bread.

"Sure mom!" Jisung answered and went to the door to open it. To him she had been 'mom' all the time...

When Jisung opened up and greated him the rather young man he smiled dearly at him and streched out his hand to shake Jisungs.
The younger didn't want to be impolite so he just shook it. It felt a little odd when the man started staring at the faint scars on Jisung's wrist a little too long to be an accident.

"Uhm, I'll show you the problem with the heating sytem upstairs." Jisung quickly pulled his hand away and signed the man to come inside awkwardly.

"Yeah, that'd be helpful." The man answered and followed Jisung.

It was 15 minutes later when the boy sat in his room and thought that it was strangely quiet in the house because it should've been time for lunch by now.
Even the mechanic wasn't making any sound.

Curiously, Jisung opened his door and stepped upstairs where the heating system was but there was no sign of anyone.

"Mom? Sis?" He shouted unsurely through the house but there was no answer. Maybe they were outside? Jisung wondered why they wouldn't tell him and went downstairs again when he almost bumped into the mechanic man who came out of the bath room.

"Oh excuse me sir, I was just wondering where you were..." Jisung tried to mirror the kind smile on the man's face but there was something about the look in his eyes that had changed from before... the air felt thick and their distance to each other wasn't enough.

"Why? Is there a problem?" He asked sweetly taking a step closer to Jisung.

"No, I was just worried something might have happened." he laughed it of and turned around to continue his way downstairs when he felt the man grab his wrist.

"You were adopted into this family, right?" he wanted to know and Jisung started to panic slightly. The discomfort he felt made him want to run away from that guy and the fact he knew about Jisung being adopted was creepy as hell.

"I was but could you please let go. I-"

"I was once adopted into a family too when I was younger... Parents where abusive, the orphanage couldn't deal with an autistic kid so I was sent from family to family. You're not autistic but you experienced that too, right?" His smile had fallen by now and his eyes where filled with sadness and empathy but Jisung felt seriously frightened by now. How did this man know this about him? There was no way to get information about that so easily.

"I said, let go of me or I'll call the cops." He tried scaring the man off but just like before he was ignored.

"How comes a trashy little kid like you finally got happy in this family? Don't you think it's egoistic taking that joy for yourself? People like us don't deserve living such a life, kid... we only deserve to suffer!" His voice got loud with every word and his head got red of the rage.
The man's grip on Jisung hand felt like it'd break his bones any second when he finally reacted and kicked the man's shin hardly. The guy groaned for a second but didn't let go.

"HELP! MOM! DAD! HELP!" Jisung yelled his lungs out while trying again and again to somehow get away but it was too difficult.

The next moment he felt something hard hitting the back of his head causing a numbing pain.

"No one will answer to you Han Jisung... you're alone." The psycho whispered close to Jisungs ear before the boy fell unconscious.

...

When he woke up he was chained to a chair and a cloth was put into his mouth.
On the ground in front of him was his adoptive father in fetal position, his hands and legs also tied. When he saw that Jisung was awake he started creating muffled sounds and moved wildly.
In his eyes behind the broken glasses Jisung saw nothing but pure terror and when he realized there were wounds all over his body the panic kicked in again. It was like he didn't get enough oxygen when the sounds of sharpening a knife echoed through the living room.

"Jisung! You're finally awake to watch the show I prepared for you." The man from before came from the kitchen. His outfit and dark hair where all the same but the grin that distorted his face into a grimace was different. It felt horrifying looking at it and being stared at by these dark and endless eyes.

"Don't get me wrong. This is all to teach you a lesson about how our world really is like."
he let the blade of the knive slide down the face of Jisung's dad on the floor. The cut wasn't deep but the blood dripped down on the floor while Jisung aggressively tried to free himself. Again and again he yelled, kicked, tried everything but the psycho didn't stop.

It wasn't only cuts, it was things that were far more horrendous than any person could imagine. But Jisung saw it all in front of his eyes. All the blood and body parts that were cut off, the opened chest with organs flooding out of it and this sickening smell of iron.

That was the memory that haunted Jisung when he wasn't careful enough... it couldn't be forgotten.

"Sir, Sir are you fine?" Jisung heard a dull voice speaking to him when he slowly regained bis consciousness.

"You were just sitting there staring at the wall..." a young girl in a cute pink dress scanned Jisung up and down with her doll like big eyes.

"Who are you?" Jisung breathed out in exhaust and got up feeling heavy.

"My name is Bella. I'm 8 years old. I live next door and Channie never leaves his door open so I came in." She smiled dearly at him and looked around them.

"Where is Channie though? And why are you here?" The little girl pointed at Jisung with a pout but the older had other thoughts on his mind.

"Channie is on a trip to visit his family in Austrailia and I came here to check his appartment." Jisung squatted down to be on an eye level with the girl again and tried his most convincing smile.

"When will he come back then? He promised to make me pancakes!" She crossed her arms and raised her head.

"Hm.. you better go back to your mom. She's surely already worrying about you."

"Why? I'm sure she-" In that moment they could hear a woman calling for Bella in the stairway and the little girl sighed soudly.

"Alright, I'll leave but tell Channie that he has to keep his promise." She seemed to try being intimidating but it was rather cute when she left the apartment with tiny steps in her white shoes.

Now Jisung was left alone again... in an empty apartment.

Without hesitation Jisung pulled out his phone and called the police to explain the situation barely maintaining a steady voice.

It didn't take long until people came to investigate the kitchen and take possible evidence and clues. Some woman took Jisung to the side and kept talking to him in an attempt to calm him down but he couldn't really understand anything. The only thing Jisung did was answering questions about Chan or possible people holding a grudge. There was no hint that Hyunjin's and Chan's case were connected but Jisung requested the police to put it in consideration... it was just a feeling and it scared Jisung to the verge of tears but yet he couldn't stay optimistic about this.

Carefully, a police woman accompanied him out of the building and on a bench in the park that was right next to it.

"Jisung!" Suddenly someone yelled his name and when he turned around he saw Minho running to where they sat, his expression filled with worry.

"A friend?" The woman asked and Jisung nodded, still overwhelmed by suddenly seeing Minho here.
Next thing he knew the police woman got up and said a few things to Minho before leaving them to go inside the building again.

"Jisung..." Minho now breathed loudly in exhaust as he say down next to him and took Jisung's hands in his.

"How did you know something happened?" The younger emotionlessly asked and finally made eye contact with Minho.

"Seungmin told me... but that's not important, are you okay?" Minho was desperate to do something that would help Jisung but the older himself was quiet shocked that the second friend of theirs was now gone so he didn't know what to do.

"Yeah, I'm... fine." Jisung smiled at him the best he could but he already knew that Minho would notice that it wasn't real.

"You're a bad liar, you know that...." he was scolded by the older who pulled him into a warm embrace so Jisung's head rested on his chest.

"You don't need to stay strong all the time... that is something you taught me Jisung." He whispered and let his hand caress the younger's back slowly.

In that moment Jisung couldn't hold the tears back anymore. Two of his closest friends disappearing with the possiblity of being kidnapped was simply too much for Jisung at the moment. He was scared and felt helpless so there was nothing he could do right now but crying his heart out with Minho holding him.
