WORLD AT GUNPOINT

He's been wincing and crying out in pain for the last hour, while the girl couldn't help but laugh at how adorable he behaved when in distress. Every time he yelled, his eyes narrowed in frustration. The onlookers were quite puzzled by the scene unfolding between the two.

Jungkook winced as he touched his leg again, letting out a sharp cry. Yn tried to soothe him, but he couldn't help but scream whenever she touched his injured leg. He's rocking back and forth, trying his best to deal with the pain. Meanwhile, she watched him, amused, resting her chin on her hand, her brown eyes filled with a mix of judgment and fondness.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? Stop it Aaaaa," Jungkook snapped irritably, only to be interrupted by another wave of pain.

"Seriously, Jungkook, it's just a sprained ankle, and you're screaming as if it's the end of the world. Really now," Yn said, clearly losing patience with his dramatics.

"You don't get it, do you? It hurts so much, I feel like I'm gonna die here!" he protested, making a sulk face before crying out again.

"Oh gosh this man, come on," she sighs, standing up. "Let's get you to the hospital to check on that leg... Though, who knows, they might just decide to amputate," she teases, trying to scare him with a smirk.

"No— No way! I'm not going anywhere. What if they really cut off my leg? No, no, no, I'd rather stay here," he protests, gripping his chair in fear, imagining the worst.

She chuckled at his reaction. No matter what, she always feels a deep urge to protect this man from the world, believing him to be too pure-hearted for its harshness.

But little did she know, he would be the one to protect her, forever.

Yn

"I'm going to college, I'm going to college," I kept chanting to myself, feeling a rush of excitement while I was in the shower. It's been ages since I felt this eager to go outside. Normally, I prefer staying in, but today feels different. It's like I've finally found my freedom, and it's making me incredibly happy.

But maybe my happiness isn't just about going to college.

Maybe it's because of Jungkook.

Knowing he's making an effort to change for me fills me with joy. I'd be over the moon if I'm the reason behind his change.

Seeing him try so hard makes me want to do the same. I think I should start trusting him more. Oh no, I didn't even realize that I've been in the bathroom for thirty minutes! Someone might start wondering if I'm alive.

Argh, Yn, hurry up.

I profaned myself, quickly stepping out of the shower, wrapping a towel around my hair, and throwing on my bathrobe. I moved to my favorite spot by the window to dry my hair.

Suddenly, the door opened without a knock indicating that someone is walking in. Only one person dares to enter like that.

He looked me over from head to toe, an annoying smirk spreading across his face. That's when it hit me—I was only in my bathrobe. Panicking, I dropped my towel and sprinted to the closet faster than flash, leaving him laughing so hard he had to sit on the bed, clutching his stomach.

After getting dressed, I realized I didn’t have my books with me.

I must be really stupid to be realizing everything late.

I decided I needed to swing by my house to grab them and some other important things. Yeah, That's a good idea.

But the question is, will he let me go to my house or not? I think, he wouldn’t mind... I think.

Fully dressed and careful to cover my injury with a long-sleeve top, I checked my reflection one last time before stepping out of the walk-in closet and stood facing him. He shifted his attention from his phone to me, giving me a curious look.

He examined me again but this time with a question mark plastered on his face. I could almost hear his unasked question in his gaze.

Jungkook frowned at my outfit. "Don't you think your shorts are too short?" he criticized.

I shot back with a hint of sarcasm, "Hm, Mr. Jeon, shorts are meant to be short." and saw him roll his eyes.

Ah, there it is. There is the possesive scoundrel.

His possessive side is showing again.

I sighed before quickly changing the subject. "By the way, can we stop by my house? I need to pick up some things."

"Fine. Let's go," he replied, getting up from the bed.

He agreed... this quick?

Is he possessed?

Surprised, I asked, "What? You're going to drop me off at college?" He nodded making me sigh. "No, Jungkook. We can't go together, no one knows about us in the college—"

"Well that's the reason I want to drop you. I want everyone at college to understand that you're mine, Only mine. This way, no one will dare approach you behind my back." He casually stated and held my shoulders.

I shook my head. "No, you can't. I don't want all that attention at college. Plus, about guys approaching me, I doubt anyone's interested in me like that. So, be relieved and let's just have Oppa drop me." I replied and he frowned.

"No Princess I'll drop—" Jungkook started to protest, but I was quick to cut him with my appeals and pleading eyes which won him over. "Jungkook , please."

"Alright, but I'm picking you up," he insisted, smiling at me while nodding in agreement.

"No, if you really want to, then fine, pick me up from the hospital, not college, okay?" I said firmly, pointing my finger towards him and scrunching my eyes at him like he does to scare me.

I hope it scares him. It's only fair that I scare him if he can threaten me just with a squint of his eyes.

He chuckled, pulling me into a hug. "I love you, Princess," he whispered, kissing my head.

"Hey, leave me! I need to go, or I'll be late!" I exclaimed, rushing out to the living room where everyone was gathered.

I attempted to surprise them with a loud "Booo..." but no one was startled. They just chuckled at my pout.

Jin Oppa greeted me warmly, caressing my head. "Good morning, Kid. Ready for college?"

"Yes, but I don't want Jungkook to drop me. So, you guys have to," I insisted, pointing at them. Jimin Oppa immediately volunteered before anyone could even say or do anything. "Okay, let's go. Our kid is going to school." Jimin Oppa said, messing up my hair and made a fuss about me going to school.

I missed all of them so much.

"Oppa, it's college, not school. I've grown up now!" I corrected him, my lips twitching into a pout which made all of them giggle.

Just then, Jungkook entered, drawing all eyes to him. "Hey! Now you are not late, huh?" he complained about my punctuality, sulking like a baby just like always.

I want to punch him right on his button nose but I can't and won't because... he's cute.

Ignoring his pout, I grabbed Jimin's hand, dragging him out to his car.

Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at my house. Thank goodness for the spare key hidden in the garden. Inside, I gathered my essentials - favorite clothes, shoes, books, my beloved soft toys, AirPods, a photo frame, and my emergency medicine for panic attacks.

Meanwhile, Jimin Oppa amusingly explored the house, even playing with my teddy bear, which made me chuckle.

After arriving at college, I said goodbye to Jimin Oppa, who left me with a kiss on my forehead. My day went surprisingly well; as someone who loves studying, it was hard to be away from it for even a short time. My brief absence, which felt more like an abduction by my ex, meant I returned to a mountain of assignments. My shift at the hospital went smoothly, too, although I found myself missing my friends. Thankfully, a call to Kizzie filled that gap a bit; I could tell she missed me just by her voice.

Jungkook picked me up in the evening, but he seemed in a hurry. There wasn’t much time for conversation; he just dropped me off at the mansion with a quick peck on my forehead before driving off. The house felt empty when I stepped inside, which wasn’t unusual. As soon as I entered, Hyo-Jin Ahjumma she came over to check on me.

“Yn, How was your day?” she asked, taking my bag as I collapsed onto the couch with a heavy sigh.

“It was exhausting,” I replied, and she laughed softly before heading to the kitchen to get me a glass of lemonade. I was so hungry I drank it all in one gulp. She was about to fetch some food, but I had to ask, “Ahjumma, where is everyone? The Oppas aren’t here, and Jungkook was in a rush. What’s happening?”

Hyo-jin Ahjumma hesitated before answering. “I’m not sure, Yn. I heard there was an attack on their secret base, probably by an enemy. But don’t worry, the young master never loses.” she reassured me, and I couldn’t help but smile at her confidence.

After dinner, I headed to my room for a bath and changed into my nightwear. But just as I was about to get into bed, I remembered the pile of homework waiting for me. With a groan, I jumped out of bed, ready to tackle my assignments.

After finishing my work late at night, my fingers ached from the non-stop effort. Stretching them out, I jumped into bed, eager for some rest. Music has always been my escape, so slipping in my AirPods, I let my favorite playlist lull me into sleep. But suddenly, sounds from outside jolted me awake. I unlocked my phone, nothing the time—3 a.m.

I sat on my bed while yawning and rubbed my eyes, trying to clear the sleep fog.

Slipping on my slippers, I wandered to my room's door, only to notice the maids bustling in and out of Jungkook's room. Confused and concerned, I managed to stop one, eager for answers. Before she could reply, Hyo-jin Ahjumma pulled me back into my room, her sudden urgency alarming me. She had a look that instantly filled me with dread. Yet, I held her hands hoping to soothe her.

"Ahjumma. what happened? Why are you so worried? Is everything alright?" I asked and she in response had me seated on the bed, only for her next words froze me in place.

"Yn... Young master..."

Pause. The silence was loud which only made my breath get more palpable.

"Mr. Jeon's been shot in the arm," she announced.

Suddenly, I couldn't breathe, my world froze, and my feet wouldn't move.

How much must he be enduring? How much pain he must be in? Is he alright?

Questions flooded my mind until Ahjumma snapped me out of it, and without wasting another second I hurried to his room. It was packed. The others stood aside, oddly calm. Hoseok Oppa noticed me and approached.

"What are you doing here, Yn?" he asked, gently touching my hair.

"Oppa, I was— Jungkook..." I managed to say, and he quickly hugged me, comforting me.

"He's fine, kid. Nothing happened to him, don't worry." He reassured me, while I tried to get a sight of Jungkook, though I couldn't see him past his bodyguards.

"You have college tomorrow, it's late. Go to your room and sleep," he suggested with a smile, trying to assure me everything was fine.

As I turned to leave, someone called my name. It was Jungkook, smiling warmly at me, his eyes filled with love.

If only I wasn't having a hard time forgiving him for leaving me that time, I would fall for these black eyes of his' all over again.

He signaled for the guards to leave, then beckoned me over with his hand.

I walked over slowly. When I reached him, he wrapped his arms around my waist tightly, clearly not wanting to let go. Surprisingly for others, I didn't resist. After a moment, he looked at the others, who left us alone without any protest.

"So, how was your day?" He greeted me with a smile turning my lips into a frown.

How could he seem so unaffected after being shot?

"Jungkook, your arm..." I pointed out, noticing the bandage.

He just smiled, inviting me to sit beside him. "Don't worry about it, Princess. It's nothing," he said, brushing my hair gently. "Now tell me, how was your day?"

"Good," I replied, avoiding his gaze. He softly turned my chin to face him, and seeing my eyes filled with tears, he pulled me into a tight hug.

"Princess, I'm okay, really. It doesn't hurt at all, the bullet barely grazed me. It'll heal fast, I'm—" he tried to reassure me.

But I couldn't hold back anymore. "Jungkook, why do you keep putting yourself in danger? Can't you stop risking your life for me?" Tears streamed down my face, prompting him to let go and gently hold my face.

"Princess, you know I'd do anything for you. But to protect you, I have to do this... I can't stop these things, I have to rule this world, keep it on my damn gunpoint, so that let alone hurt you, no one even dares to look directly into your eyes with bad intentions. I need to ensure no one can ever hurt or separate us. Even if it means risking my life." he said with intense conviction, staring direct into my eyes.

I stood up, pulling away. "I— I have college tomorrow. I should go," I said, but as I tried to leave, he grabbed my hand.

"Please, stay with me tonight, Princess," he pleaded, his eyes begging me.

And once again I got overwhelmed by his gaze, I nodded and sat back down, leaning against the headboard. He kissed my forehead tenderly, then rested his head on my lap, letting me run my fingers through his dense hair with a smile crafted on my face. As he fell asleep, I took a deep sigh and stared at the ceiling.

The Jungkook lying in my lap wasn't the boy who used to cry over a small scratch on his body.

He isn't the same Jungkook who needed my help dealing with girls in high school, who once got terrified seeing his own reflection in water and cried all night, or who used to sleep in my embrace, needed my comfort from nightmares.

He had changed; he isn't the Jungkook I once knew. He isn't the guy I fell in love with.

He is not my Jungkook.

Next Morning

A burst of sunlight greeted me, forcing me to squint against its brightness. Slowly opening my eyes, I noticed a bunny curled up in my arms, his peaceful slumber bringing a smile to my face. Reaching for my phone on the nightstand, I checked the time: 7:30 AM. Realization dawned on me—I had just half an hour to get ready for college. Trying not to disturb Jungkook, who was still asleep, I quietly left the bed and hurried to prepare for the day.

Namjoon Oppa offered me a ride to college, for which I was grateful, especially since I ended up arriving fifteen minutes late. Fortunately, my status as a diligent student spared me from any detention. My day's schedule had shifted, freeing me from my usual volunteer work at the hospital. Seizing the opportunity, I arranged to meet friends at a café near the college. I phoned Jungkook, who quickly agreed, his agreement bringing a mix of surprise and warmth to my heart.

I paused at his sweetness before shaking it off and hanging up. Then, I reached out to my friends to arrange the meet-up.

At the café, I had been waiting for my friends for about ten minutes when I heard a voice calling my name. I looked up to see two girls waving enthusiastically from across the room.

"Ahhh, Yn, I've missed you so much!" Jisoo exclaimed as she wrapped me in a tight hug.

"I've missed you too, Jisoo, and Lisa," I replied, returning their embrace. We found a table and settled in, ordering our favorite treats. Our conversation was filled with laughter, though it wasn't long before the topic took an unexpected turn. Lisa brought up my trustee, all about preachings of his attractiveness—a topic I tried to sidestep awkwardly..

"So, we heard your trustee is quite the heartthrob," Lisa commented, fanning herself dramatically.

"Um, I... I don't know, I haven't really seen him yet," I lied, because why would I ever admit that I know the man she's gushing about and make her think she has a chance when in reality he's mine— okay, stop running your brain, Yn.

"You haven't? The whole city is buzzing about him, every fucking girl is drooling over him and you haven't seen him?" Lisa's disbelief was evident, prompting a sigh from me. She smiled reassuringly before continuing, "But you could introduce me to him, right? I've been obsessing over his pictures for ages. I'm dying to meet him in person. He's just so handsome, like a dream. I think I'm falling for him. Oh God, my first love!" She chimed gaping at her phone screen while I just looked at her in confusion.

"Look at him, Yn? He is so damn handsome. Gosh, bet me this man." She eagerly showed me a picture on her phone, her gaze expectant as I took a brief look.

"I don't think you'd be as interested if you met him in person." I remarked, taking a sip from my Kit Kat shake.

"Why not?" she inquired, her curiosity piqued.

"Because he's... a mafia, and from what I've heard, he is— he is already taken." I explained, watching their expressions change from excitement to shock.

"That's ridiculous! How can someone that handsome be involved in the mafia? And he can't possibly have a girlfriend!" Jisoo protested, her disbelief echoing Lisa's.

These girls are getting on my nerves, save me god!

Am I getting jealous? Why am I so frustrated because they're complimenting Jungkook a little... shamelessly?

I shrugged my thoughts and was about to respond to Jisoo but our conversation was abruptly interrupted by my phone ringing.

Seems like God heard me.

Excusing myself, I took the call, a mundane yet necessary distraction akin to those found in novels where the protagonist must navigate unexpected turns. After the call, I informed my friends that I needed to leave. They hugged me goodbye, just then a car pulled up in front of the café. Jungkook stepped out, looking impeccable, and walked over to me.

"I missed you, Princess," he said, pulling me into a tight embrace. I couldn't help but glance back at Jisoo and Lisa, who were watching us with wide eyes, it was a clear sign they hadn't expected the man they'd been gushing about to be mine. Jungkook then guided me to the passenger seat of his car.

I guess I don't need to take a month to fall for him—it had already happened.
