Chapter 8- Stripping Harpers rank

"Can he do that! I'm sure he can't! But then he might be able to you know being the commissioner and everything!" Harper says as her breathing gets faster
"Oh yes I can! Or until you get your head out of your ass!" Grissom says
"Come on gris! She's worked so hard! She does everything right!" Kelly says
"She's one of the best officers in Chicago!" Boden says
Harper gets a tight feeling in her chest or a feeling like she can't breath no one really notices her apart from Cruz. Cruz walks over to her and takes her hand, he then leads her over to Kelly's chair and sits her down
"I-I can't b-breath!" Harper says clutching her chest
"Deep breaths! In and out!" Cruz says breathing in and out slowly for her to copy
"W-What is wrong with m-me?" Harper says with breathing still really fast
"Your having a panic attack! Your gonna be fine! Deep breaths!" Cruz says taking her hands
Harper looks over at Kelly to see him still arguing with Grissom
"She's worked so hard! God gris you gave her the promotion!" Kelly shouts
"Well maybe I was wrong!" Grissom shouts
Kelly notices that Harper isn't there and can see her over with Cruz. He knows that something is wrong so he runs over
"What's going on?" Kelly says worried as he takes Harper's hand
"She's having a panic attack! Keep calm Captain!" Cruz says looking at Kelly dead in the eye
After a while Harper manages to control her breathing and feels really stupid
"I overreacted! It's just a stupid rank!" Harper says putting her hands over her face
"That you worked very hard for!" Kelly says
They all walk into the common room but Harper doesn't move. Herrmann notices her sitting so he crouches down
"Hey kid?" Herrmann says
"Yeah?" Harper replies
"I just wanted to say how I know that your going through a rough patch but your gonna get through it! You need to get through it! Show Aria,Devin and the twins how brave their mum is! You may be getting stripped of your rank but I know you can climb right back up!" Herrmann says calmly
"Thank you Herrmann! It means a lot!" Harper says
"In the mean time! We can make the new Luitenents life a misery!" Herrmann says as Harper lets out a laugh
"Sounds like a great plan!" Harper says before Herrmann walks away
Harper sits and looks back at memories from her time as a captain. She smiles as she looks at them and realises how lucky she is...
