You were sat in your room reading a book you knew your birthday was coming up, it meant a year closer to the faithful day which you didn't want you sighed and said "I know that in reality, this isn't real it's a story from a girls imagination, but what is reality anyway this is my reality now? not the one I came from let's hope I can make a better life here than there, it's simpler I mean marry a rich guy be happy have kids and done and it's meant to be Ciel here but I get the feeling it won't be just him since Vincent knew undertaker when Ciel was little, that means I get to meet him, ooh I can start a good relationship with him have him on my side and all the modern comedy and such I know" you smirked forming a plan and decided to write them down so you won't forget them in a journal.
While you did that Francis had called a meeting with Alexis, Edward who was visiting and Elizabeth "why are we here mother?" Elizabeth asked "as you know your sisters birthday is coming up" Francis explained Elizabeth gasped shed forgotten. Edward said, "wait isn't this year that year?" Alexis said "yes your right it's the year she gets that" "get what? I'm confused" Elizabeth asked putting her finger to her chin and putting her head to the side "what father means is, when a member of the Midford family turn a certain age or are seen as ready they get a special one of a kind sword just for them, I got one and it seems this year it's (names) turn and yours soon" Edward explained looking at her.
Elizabeth gasped and said "can I pick the design! please it'll be so cute?" she looked at them with pleading eyes "as much as we would love your help Elizabeth, the design has already been picked," Alexis told her she said "b-but," he said "it takes a while to make a sword to the very high standard and quality we want, we had to have the design sent away a while ago," Francis said "yes, it must be to the highest standard and for it to be ready for the party too, it had to be sent away long before," she said "oh" "but you can still pick a nice gift," Edward told her. she nodded and said "yes it'll be the cutest and best gift ever!" she and a determined look on her face.
You had no idea about them planning your party or gifts you had already filled a few journals with jokes and sketches from different shows, you were laughing to yourself when writing them remembering them. soon you were looking around London well a small town close to London you could go to alone. you said "I've got some freedom at least, I wonder what would happen if I ended up in Ciel's place and summoned Sebastian instead, or if I did summon a demon to help I'm not immortal" you kept walking people would say hello and such you saw a nice shop that had things from around the world. you went in the worker said "oh hello there, do you need help?" you looked at them and shook your head "alright if you need help or something is out of reach let me know" you nodded and went to look in the section for Japan and china 'now let's see Japan' you thought.
You found some books translated into English which were fairy tales you decided to get them, and some in kanji, hiragana and katakana "my you sure you can understand those?" they asked "I'm learning, so it's to practice" you told them. they smiled and said "always happy to hear someone is interested in other cultures, is it just Japan?" you nodded "yeah, I like Japan it's so unique and I think in the future it'll be popular, with a lot of people that and Korea" "oh really, well I'm sure my shop will be busy" "I'm sure it will and others like it" you smiled, they smiled and spent the next hour or so talking about what you liked about Japan and Korea, you mentioned the music they enjoyed this talk.
You'd soon left humming some k pop song happy You'd found this hidden gem of a shop, you had a few new books and other things you went back home and put them on your bookshelf in your room, it was full of all different books you sat down and said "I know they'll do a party they do every year, one thing I hate I wish it could at times be private just us do something fun but it won't but I can't grumble" you decided to take a nap which you did.
A few days later you were getting measured for a new dress, Francis and Elizabeth were with you as well as madam red and Rachel who You'd bumped into outside the shop. the dressmaker said "my you've grown lady (name)! now I have your measurements let's talk about design" you said "ok" you sat down they got their sketchpad and notepad and said "now, is there anything you don't want?" you thought "no (least favourite/most hated colour or colours), um nothing too frilly or lacy" you listed off other things you didn't want on the dress or fabrics used. the designer had wrote them all down and said "that won't be a problem now" they sketched a few ideas.
After they showed you some you liked, some not so much but you were polite and the ones you didn't like, You'd say something like there nice but they might not be for me but some other girl and they were happy. soon You'd got the design and colours sorted, you couldn't wait to see the dress after everyone left Rachel said "Francis when is the party?" "it's this weekend, has my brother got (name) a gift?" "oh yes it's already picked, Ciel's insists on picking one himself" she chuckled at this Francis nodded. Elizabeth was walking next to you saying about how her gift is the cutest and such 'oh god it's worse, the cute thing please don't let it be some abomination dress that I would not even dare put on a Barbie doll!' you thought.
Soon it was your birthday the party wasn't until tonight so you had the morning and early afternoon free. once dressed you went to breakfast when there everyone wished you a happy birthday, you sat down and said "what am I doing today?" "you have no lessons today," Alexis told you which you were ok with. no lessons Edward was home for the week because of a school holiday, you knew it would be protective Edward at the party which you knew you couldn't stop him. after breakfast Elizabeth gave you her gift, you opened the box and inside it, you saw a beautiful porcelain doll. you carefully took it out "where did you get this?" "I saw it when I was shopping with father, do you like it?" she asked you nodded and said "yeah I do, it's nice thanks" you smiled she smiled back and hugged, you after you had a maid put it in your room which they did.

Edward gave you his gift a bracelet which you thanked him for and said You'd wear it tonight at the ball, You'd noticed Francis and Alexis hadn't given you your present yet and figured it was the sword one you went to your room and saw a note on your bed. you opened it and read it '(name) since it's now inching ever closer to the start of the main story of this world, I figured You'd like to start reading up on it again I've left you the first few volumes up to just before the circus so when that Indian price and his butler come, so enjoy them when ill leave a note when I add more or visit your friend death' you chuckled "well they see me as a friend and that's good, ill have to thank them next time" you said and put the note in a diary and noticed the mangas as obscure fairy tales, which related to them like one was called the tale of the Indian prince another the mysterious stranger.

The time seemed to fly and it was time to get ready Ran was helping you get ready and said "my the time certainly has gone fast, it seems like yesterday that your mother had you" you smiled at her "I have a question" "what is it?" "well would it......would it be strange if I saw you as like my grandmother?" you turned and looked at her Ran knelt and said "I can't tell you how to feel, but if that is how you do then that's very sweet and ill let you in on a secret, I see you as my own granddaughter I unfortunately never got a grandchild as my children passed or where not lucky enough to have there own" you smiled and thought 'wow I feel bad for her, but I'm glad I can help her see what it's like' "are you married to Tanaka?" you asked she chuckled and said "does it seem like where together?" "kinda or am I wrong?" "not far off, my husband isn't here and I used to court Tanaka when we where younger and are courting again" you nodded smiling, and soon you where in your dress and hair done in a nice style.

You were taken to the ballroom you had the bracelet Edward gave you on, you saw it was full of family and other important people. once everyone was there Alexis got everyone's attention and said "I would like to thank you all for coming to my eldest daughters birthday party" they clapped "now (name) thank them" he quietly said to you. so you did as he said, putting all your lessons into full use this year seemed to be more important than the others "thank you all very much for coming to my birthday ball, and thank you all for any gifts you have given me" you gave a fake smile as you finished acting like the perfect lady, and like your innocent to everyone clapped 'ok acting is hard, at least I got a lot of practice over the years especially with Edward and Elizabeth' you thought.
"my what a perfect young lady" "yes, if she came into my family I would be thrilled" "yes, not only that but I've heard she's a prodigy for a girl, anything she touches she is able to handle in a few lessons" you could hear the compliments and smirked inside 'if only they knew the truth, at least I've been helping Ciel get ready for Sebastian on somethings that being the academic side' you thought as you politely greeted guests and thanked them for coming. soon it was over you sighed getting a moment to yourself "at last, I'm going to become Ciel and not want to go to parties" you closed your eyes.
"(name)!" you looked hearing your name you looked to see Ciel. you smiled "how come you're over here by yourself?" he asked "I wanted a minute to myself, now I've said hello and thanked them for coming" "oh, but happy birthday" you smiled and said "thanks Ciel" you both talked for a while. soon the music started "do you want to dance?" he asked holding his hand out, you nodded and went to the dance floor and danced with him. Edward saw you and glared at this "I wanted to be the first one to dance with her!" he said to himself, You'd seen and figured he wanted to be the first person you danced with tonight, but Ciel beat him to it after the dance you and Ciel left the floor.
As the party got to it's peak Francis said "everyone! may we have your attention" they all looked Alexis said "as you know, I am a knight and there is a tradition in my family where when a child is of a certain age they get a sword to show in the family for swordsmanship, they are ready this sword is given to the child when it is there birthday, and are seen ready in their parents eyes" a lot of people knew this tradition. You'd seen some of the other knights there you went to Alexis "you've been doing well in your lessons, hopefully, this sword will help you improve more" Francis told you which you nodded.
Alexis held the box as you took out a sword it was beautiful "thank you" the handle had a unique design to it. after you put it back in the box so it was safe, a butler put it in your room for later. you decided to put Edward out of his misery and danced with him which made him happy that you did, your cake was soon brought out which was amazing and your favourite flavour. Ciel would be staying over with Rachel and Vincent, you got another bitter rabbit from Vincent this time it had a dress that matched yours which you loved.
