Laying his eyes on a spot that looked perfectly normal, that you will think nothing of, Xiao Yao saw a mechanism that could lead them out of there.
"Everyone, follow me."
Xiao Yao quickly ran in a certain direction as fast as he could. The others also did not hesitate to follow him, what could they do but to follow him?
Even though it might look stupid, but, they have no choice but to trust him on this one.
Anyway, Xiao Yao was always the one who solved their problem. There is no reason to not trust him on this one.
With a quick step and turn, Xiao Yao kicked the mechanism with his feet knowing that his hand was not free to do so.
The hidden passage opened with a creak, Xiao Yao did not wait for it to completely open before going in and running to safety.
"You have five seconds before the door closes!" Xiao Yao yelled at them.
Hearing what he said, the others did not dally and ran as if, no, they ran faster since their very one life depended on it.
"Ahh!!" Leng MianMian yelped when she tripped down.
"MianMian!" Fei Chen screamed in fright when he found his beloved missing from his side.
"Brother Fei, I'm here!" Leng MianMian cried as she staggeringly stood up, her ankle sprained.
"MianMian!"
Finally seeing her, Fei Chen quickly ran back to her despite the fast-approaching zombie soldiers and corpse bug.
Ah! What grave love!
Watching the melodramatic "movie" Xiao Yao was moved to tears...seeing another yet stupid protagonist.
'Ah! I never fail to see such idiotic couples in every world I world hop. Why do they choose to trip in every danger encounter than running for their life?'
[For melodramatic purposes and to increase the love meter between the leads, Host!]
'I think so too.'
"What are the two of you doing staring at each other for?! The door is closing!!" Chen Qiao yelled at the stupid couple while trying to stop the door from closing.
This brought time for the Old Bandit's group to enter the door but the two stupid leads were still taking their time walking towards the door.
"Hurry!!!" Chen Qiao grits his teeth.
"Chen Qiao!"
Xiao Yao suddenly grabs Chen Qiao back making him let go of the door letting it fall hard on the ground, a little dent on it.
"Xiao Yao, what did you do?!"
Chen Qiao was shocked when Xiao Yao suddenly grabbed him but then he went livid when he realized what just happened.
"You are asking me?" Xiao Yao scoffed.
"Why did you pull me? Fei Chen and Leng MianMian are still outside?! They are in danger! Xiao Yao, though the three of you are not on good terms but there is no reason for you to want them dead?!" Chen Qiao's eyes were bloodshot as he stared at Xiao Yao angrily.
Seeing him so angry, Xiao Yao felt tick and raised his leg to give him a good kick.
"What if I want them dead, what can you do about it?"
Xiao Yao kicked him again and again, beating him, stopping only when he was finally satisfied.
"Bastard." Xiao Yao spat.
Chen Qiao was badly beaten by him unable to even defend himself from Xiao Yao's overwhelming strength. He curled pitifully on the floor spitting blood.
"I'll be going ahead. Those who want to come with me then let's go." Xiao Yao said turning back.
"Are we not going to rest first? Were tired." Said a member of the bandit.
"Yes. Yes."
"We're safe here. Let's rest first." Said the others.
"You can rest. But, I'll go ahead. Anyway, you won't get lost here even if I go first since the passage here will be straight from here on out until we reach the end. I'll see you all at the end of the tunnel."
Xiao Yao did not say anymore and walked deeper in the passage.
The old bandit and old Bai looked at each other before walking after Xiao Yao whose figure was slowly being enshrouded by darkness.
But before leaving, Old Bai looked at the curled-up Chen Qiao and sighed.
"Youngster, don't get me wrong but the kiddo just did it for your sake."
Chen Qiao might looked as if he was dead but at the mention of Xiao Yao his ears perked up.
"You might not have noticed it but if you kept holding on to the door, it would only do you more harm than good. I may be old but my eyes are sharp. Even though it's just for a moment this old man clearly saw it. That door is not meant to be stopped from closing, if someone dared to do so, a heavy blade would fall from between the stone and cut the person's hand."
Saying so, Old Bai left leaving Chen Qiao in regret.
His anger deflating like a balloon.
But unlike a deflating balloon, he was like a balloon that was poked by a needle.
He hurt all over, not just physically but also mentally.
His eyes looked at the dark passage where Xiao Yao just left, and his heart felt heavy and filled with repentance.
Than thanking Xiao Yao for saving him, he instead blamed the other and accused him.
The beating he received was not enough for hurting the other's feelings, he should have beaten him harder.
Chen Qiao covered his eyes with his arms. A minute later, his sniffles filled the quite room.
Camping over a fire, Xiao Yao entered the tent and changed the wet towel on top of Xu Xin's forehead.
Luckily, he did not inhale too much corpse poison so he was not in any kind of danger.
After feeding him some detoxifying pills, he was slowly getting better.
"Hmmm..."
"You are finally awake. Hungry?"
Xiao Yao felt relieved seeing him finally open his eyes. He quickly helped him up seeing that he wanted to sit up.
"What happened?"
"You were poisoned but you are totally fine now. Don't worry. Here, drink some porridge."
Xiao Yao gave the bowl of porridge in his hand to Xu Xin which the other took gratefully.
"Be careful. It's hot." Xiao Yao reminded.
Cough!
"I told you its hot."
Xiao Yao laughed before handing him his water bottle to drink. He also took the leisure to wipe the spilled porridge on the side of his mouth.
The atmosphere between them was really harmonious that if you pick a background it will definitely be a floating heart and flowers.
"I-I can do it myself." Xu Xin stuttered.
Xiao Yao raises an eyebrow at him feeling amused at his embarrassed expression.
He really wanted to tease him more but he feared that he would make the other cry so he just relented and gave him the handkerchief.
As an old monster, he really should not steal some baby cradle lest karma gets him like how it caught up with him in two worlds before.
Karma is really a bitch!
"Aaahhh!!!"
"Help!!!"
"What's happening?"
Xiao Yao and Xu Xin looked at each other and went out of the tent almost at the same time.
They looked at the scene happening in front of them, Xiao Yao found it gruesome.
"Just as I expected." Xiao Yao mumbled to himself while crossing his arms.
"Xiao Yao you bastard!!"
Out of the corner of his eyes, Leng MianMian was taking big strides towards him despite spraining her ankle.
Xiao Yao just looked at the crazy banshee waiting for her to come over but Xu Xin stood in front of him protecting him from her.
Upon arriving in front of them, she quickly raised her hand about to slap Xu Xin who was standing in front of Xiao Yao since she could not slap Xioa Yao, she opted for Xu Xin.
The hand was about to fall on his face but Xiao Yao was faster. With a twist, not only did Xiao Yao get in front of Xu Xin but Leng MianMian's hand was twisted in a creepy angle.
"Aaahhh!!!" Leng MianMian screamed in pain.
"Bitch! Who are you trying to slap?"
Xiao Yao coldly stared at the female lead as if wanting to drill holes in her very being and make her bleed.
[Right. Who are you to slap my Host mysterious person?!]
'Right. You dare slap my Xin?!'
[Yes. Host Xin!]
'Wait. Something is wrong.' Xiao Yao said feeling that he just said something wrong.
[Host, nothing is wrong. Just your imagination. Please continue.]
"You crazy bastard! Ahhh!!"
Leng MianMian felt as if she was about to go crazy and kept on screaming.
"I'm crazy? Glad you know it."
Xiao Yao haughtily smirked while grabbing the female lead's mouth hard by the hand. He leaned a little closer staring her in the eye coldly.
"Whore. Next time, choose who you can bully or not. If you dare touch Xin in the future, you will not only get a broken arm but a cut-off hand. Got it?" Xiao Yao spat coldly before harshly throwing the female lead to the side like some garbage.
"Ah!"
"Let's go."
Xiao Yao walked pass Leng MianMian stepping on her hand in the process earning a hiss from her.
He was not sorry one bit.
Xu Xin who had been watching the whole drama since earlier had a complicated expression on his face but gradually it faded and turned into a faint smile.
"What is happening here?"
Xiao Yao looked at the screaming people writhing like some salted worm on the floor. A bunch of them were already foaming in the mouth while the others were already dead.
But the most eye-catching one among the screaming patients was the male lead who was huffing and panting from the pain.
"Male leads sure are different."
"Kid, can you save them?"
Old Bai who caught sight of Xiao Yao's figure almost sighed in relief when he saw him. He really did not notice but he had already become dependent on this youth.
"Sure. Get a gun and shoot them in the head. At least, that will relieve them from the pain." Xiao Yao indifferently said.
Old Bai and the others paled from fright hearing Xiao Yao's answer.
"Is there no other way?" Old Bai asked.
"No other way." Xiao Yao shrugged his arms.
"No! There must still be a way!"
Leng MianMian who was supposed to be thinking about life suddenly appeared beside Xiao Yao and screamed like everybody was deaf.
"Then, can you think of a way?" Xiao Yao looked at her and asked.
"I...."
Leng MianMian looked at him like a gaping fish closing and opening its mouth not knowing what to say.
"Xiao Yao, is there no other way?"
Chen Qiao who became a wall flower not too long ago suddenly appeared in front of Xiao Yao's sight looking miserable due to his injuries and another injury on top of the ones he received from Xiao Yao.
Seeing Xiao Yao not answering, the rest also looked at him.
Xiao Yao and Chen Qioa had a staring contest for a while before Xiao Yao sighed.
"Actually, there is another way."
