Why do I care
She's a simple village girl yet hear she is occupying too much space in my head
I mean she's crazy
She dares ignored the king
Stole the royal enchanters pants and then beat the crap out of him the next day
Yet I found myself convincing my father to let her join our ranks rather than executing her for her stupid behavior
"Who is this girl" his voice filled the large room
"She a medic from one of the smaller army camps" I answered
"Why did you bring her here"
"Because she showed great skill and courage on the field"
'Why should I spear her life while she's here? '
I remained silent I had no answer
"Why is she special to you"
"She isn't" I answered too quickly. She has no meaning in my life. I quickly reassured myself, but it felt like I was desperately trying to convince myself. besides if I mention her power who knows what the king will do with her right now
"I mean she has a connection to the dragon and I feel its best we keep her here so we can measure all its abilities"
"One more slip and ill kill her myself"
his words echoed through my head for the rest of the day. Now here I set in my office trying to get some work done.
I went over reports from the general around our territories.
Our soldier is coming in completely unprepared
There are also not enough trainers to make sure our soldiers receive the best training possible
I quickly wrote a letter to each general to send me 3 of their best soldiers to the castle so I can give them the training myself. They can return to their camps and help prepare the new soldiers better
As I wrote my mind wandered to earlier today
After the king spoke with me I headed up to my bedroom to wake Luna up and let her know never to disrespect the royal crown again
I had to show my authority
Let her know why they call me the "Bloody Prince"
"I want to know why you are so special to the prince" I heard Haikems voice whisper from inside the room
He must have been playing around with her to get some love
He is known around the castle for seducing new men and women just to prove that he could attract anyone
He has never failed
I peeped inside and watched him slowly kiss her hand
I felt a pinch of jealousy, but I choose to ignore
Maybe watching her succumb to his charms will get rid of my gentle spot for her
He whispered something in her ear and reached down touching her waist
This was faster than I expected
She was dazed-looking into his eyes
But why wouldn't she be
She is a woman and he's a charming man
But then she did the most unexpected thing
I didn't even see her lift her hand but she swung her fist forward smashing it against his head
Without skipping a beat she swung her other leg kicking him into the wall
She has incredible speed but even more amazing strength
"Don't ever disrespect me like that again " her voice was quiet yet cold
I looked at her in disbelief
Who the hell is this girl
I snapped out of my trance and marched into the room
She stood there with a calm face but I could see from her rapidly rising and falling chest that she was scared but she covered it with anger
Blood slowly pooled at her feet because she busted her knuckles
She stood there clueless about her current conditions
She didn't even notice as I entered the room.
"What's going on haikem"
haikem has never been one for explanations or apologies but I could tell that he knew he went too far today.
He winced as he pushed his body off the floor
" Nothing much just getting to know our guest" he quickly covered his regret with a sly smirk
Anger filled my body
This is not the first time he has done this but this is the first time it has felt so personal
I didn't even notice I was raising the temperature of the room until luna started to shift uncomfortably in the now uncomfortable hot room
I could feel the ocean waters begin to shift toward the window
My heart started to dwindle with the cool water breeze now blowing into the room.
Luna had no idea what she was doing
She Had no idea of her power
She can shift oceans
I didn't even notice as haikem left the room
" Did he try anything on you"
She looked at me like she didn't even know he was
My eyes travel down her body looking for evidence of injury or anything
But I didn't see anything
I felt my heart rate slow down
Until I looked down at a pool of blood forming by her feet
The blood was coming from her knuckles
I clenched my jaw holding back the anger that I felt
"No prince kai just a little misunderstanding," she said
Why is she lying?
Was she trying to protect him?
But then I realized she must be used to protecting her soldiers because even if they treated her like crap. They were Her soldiers and she would rather suffer than hurt anyone else.
I fell silent
Luna shifted uncomfortably across from me
I heard her wince as she moved
"How are your injuries," said in a quieter voice
I should have known she would answer me the way she did
"I don't know prince kai they feel as injuries should feel," she said and then lost herself in her thoughts
Now here I am at my desk replaying all our conversations
She was something else
I wanted to protect her even though I know she didn't need me to.
Closing my eyes I leaned back in my chair
Trying to get her out of my head
That stranger crazy stupid girl
My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Come"
Haikem was supposed to bring me a few reports about everyone in the medic station
"I can't fall asleep" a soft voice whispered
My breath caught in my throat as I noticed luna standing at the door.
