So let's begin with the chapter now.
Akash's POV
After having dinner we went to our respective rooms.
I tried sleeping but who am I kidding, sleep was far away from me.
Her face was the only thing that was surrounding my mind.
She's still the same...her face, her big doe like eyes, I think she has become taller and not to mention her hair...I think she has grown her hair.
She was always beautiful but I think in all these years she has actually evolved to even more beautiful woman.
The best part about her has always been her eyes, which is epitome of innocence.
They still look the same, big, innocent and the way she was staring back at me...I could just drown in those eyes.
Shut up Akash, she belongs to someone else, my conscience reminded me.
But there's no harm in being beside her. Anyways I've agreed with Sid's plan that she'll report to me but how's is this possible because reporting is something which is managed by HR and not project managers or managers.
Don't know what is he going to do but she's not with me anymore and he's asking me to befriend her. What if I try to befriend her and her and Mohit's relationship gets affected?
I don't want to be the reason for their fight and misunderstanding.
Thinking this, sleep engulfed me.
Next day, as usual we headed to our office in my car.
"So how are you going to make sure that Kriti reports to you and Siya reports to me?" I asked, breaking the silence.
"Oh...so eager to get her under your wings?" he said grinning.
"Shut up. You are the one who's eager to take Kriti under your wings" I said and he smiled shyly.
"Oh my god, Sid you are blushing" I said pinching his cheeks.
"Shut up. I just want to be with her" he said.
"Finally" I said dramatically.
"But I am still not sure if she'll accept me" he sighed and said.
"Why wouldn't she accept you. If she has feelings for you she definitely will" I said.
"I know but I just feel like right now, being with her is the most important thing, rather than proposing her" he said.
"What do you mean?" I asked him getting confused.
"Nothing much, I am just thinking to befriend her, again and not propose her" he said.
"Why? You still love her right?" I asked him.
"Of course I love her and I'll always love her. She has and will always be a special part of my life. I always used to think about her but never had the courage to contact her, thinking about her reaction but after seeing her yesterday all my thought flew out of the window. But reality is that I think I still am not capable enough for her and I'll propose her for marriage only when I feel I am capable enough to face her family. Till then, I'll try to repair our broken friendship" he said.
"Okay...so once again there'll be late night chats?" I asked.
"Only if she's not that angry with me. You know her, her anger and the way I neglected her, her pleadings to talk to me" he said with a sad smile.
"You know what, I want her to torture you. I still remember the way she cried her eyes out on our farewell. She was begging you to talk to her and you like an idiot, made her cry. If she decides not to give you a chance, I'll be very happy and definitely I'll support her" I said.
"You're no less than her" he said muttering.
"I heard that" I said.
"It was meant to be heard" he said.
"Enough of about me and Kriti. What have you though about you and Siya?" he asked.
Sighing, I said "what about me and her? You know we aren't together."
"I obviously know that. What I am asking is, do you want to befriend her?" he asked me.
"I...I don't think it's a good idea Sid" I said.
"Why?" he asked.
"You know the reason very well. She isn't mine anymore. Didn't you see her and Mohit and together yesterday? They were hugging each other" I said.
"So what?" he shrugged.
"I don't want to create any problems between the two and moreover it'd be better if I maintain safe distance from her" I said.
"Whatever it is Akash, you didn't let me talk to her when she broke up with you and I am still not satisfied with your abrupt breakup. I told this to you many a times to let me talk to her but you never allowed me. I told you many a times that there's something fishy but you didn't let me investigate" he said.
"It was of no use Sid" I said.
"May be, but just for my satisfaction, I wanted to dig deeper but you didn't let me. I still can't settle with the fact that she chose Mohit over you just for money because let's be honest, you and me both know that she was never a gold digger" he said.
I looked out of the window.
After thinking for sometime, I said "what do you want Sid?"
"I just want to know the truth, why she left you" he said.
"And I told you the reason like hundred times" I said, frustrated.
"There's something more to it. I don't know but I've a feeling that there's something that they hid from us. You remember, Kriti used to pester me a lot to talk to me but the day you and Siya broke up, she stopped talking to me altogether" he said.
"I know but maybe she stopped talking to you because she wasn't feeing comfortable talking to you as we both were flat mates and any news related to could make Siya upset" I said.
I can't believe we're having this discussion again.
"I don't know Akash but whatever it is, I really need to find out" he said.
"Do whatever you want" I said and then I drove in silence.
We reached the office shortly and parking my car, we went to our cabins.
"So now tell me, how are you going to make sure that Kriti reports to you and Siya reports to me?" I asked him, once we got settled in our respective cabins.
"That's my problem dude. You just wait and watch" he said, grinning.
I smiled at his antiques.
After discussing some strategies for project, we went to cafeteria and decided to visit the training hall after having our lunch.
As soon as we entered the cafeteria, I bumped into someone and when I steadied her, my mouth hung open.
"Siya"
Siya's POV
After having dinner in silence when Mohit was dropping us off to the guest house, he asked to no one in particular "how was your day?"
"It was fine, but very hectic" Kriti replied, dramatically.
He chuckled and said "get used to it princess. You'll now know how corporate job is."
"Yeah yeah" she said, dismissing.
"So how's your manager. Did you meet him? Or is it a girl?" he asked.
We both looked at each other, not sure what to say to Mohit.
He glanced at us and asked "what happened? Is there any problem?"
I gave Kriti a nod.
"Bhaiya, we need to tell you something important" she said.
"What?" Mohit asked.
Gulping, she said " you know our manager very well."
"What are you saying Kriti. You very well know I don't deal with IT sector then how would I know your manager?" he asked.
"He...he's Akash" she said looking down.
He just applied breaks suddenly and we could hear tires screeching.
"What?" he asked, more like shouted.
"Yes bhaiya and...Sid is also our manager" she said.
He started laughing like a maniac.
What happened to him?
"Bhiaya you think this is funny?" Kriti said, keeping her hands over her chest, glaring at him.
"Oh..oh my god" he said, in between laughing.
After like five minutes when he stopped laughing, Kriti said "why were you laughing?"
"What should I do then? Sulk like you both?" he said, laughing again.
"On a serious note, you both have been avoiding them like plague but I am sure, god has some other plans for you both" he said, wiping the tears which were formed in the corner of his eyes due to continuous laughing.
"Please bhaiya, suggest some idea so that we can avoid them" Kriti said, pleading.
"You think there's any way by which you can void them?" he asked.
"No bhaiya, we've already been tagged to this project and we can't change the project until and unless we complete two years" she said.
"How do you know about it?" I asked her.
"Of course girl, didn't you hear our trainer today? This is one of the policies in this company that you should at least 24 months, only then you can move to a different project" she said.
"I think there's no option then other than facing them" I said, sighing.
"I told you Siya, it would happen some day" Mohit said.
"I never believed it Mohit. I know you always said that destiny will bring us together someday but I thought..." I said but trailed off.
"I always said Siya, your love for each other, the bond that you both share is much stronger than you think" he said.
"I know...you always said that but...I don't know what am I going to do now" I said.
"Nothing, just let fate do it's work" he said.
"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean to say, let fate do it's work. Let it bring you two together, again" he said.
"You know it isn't possible" I said.
"This is something that you think. What if fate has some other plans for you both?" he said.
"What if you both are destined to be together? You never know what future has stored in for you" he said, shrugging.
"Mohit, I always thought you're on my side" I said.
"You very well know, I never was in favor of you both breaking up and I still want you both to end up together" he said.
"And you my darling sister, I know how much you've missed Sid" he said, turning to Kriti.
"No...no bhaiya...it's nothing of that sort" she said, stuttering.
"I very well know, you miss him a lot. Tell me honestly you both, don't lie, aren't you both happy that you both would get to at least them in front of you" he asked.
Who are we kidding, Mohit knows us very well. We can't lie to him.
"I just want both of you to be happy and I very well know Siya, your happiness lies in Akash" he said.
"And you my princess, like Sid a lot, I can see it in your eyes" he said.
She widened her eyes in shock "what? no" she shouted.
He just chuckled and said "we'll see to it" and turned to face the front of the car.
His phone started ringing and I saw a sweet smile forming on his lips.
"Yes my lord" he said dramatically.
After the other person said something to him, he had a huge smile on his lips.
"You think I could ever forget you?" he said.
"Of course, who would I be with then?" he said again.
Kriti gestured him to put the phone on speaker but he glared at her.
She snatched the phone from his hands and turned the speaker on before Mohit could snatch from her.
"You don't love me anymore" we heard from the other end, more like she was whining.
Kriti has a huge thing for hearing their lovey dovey talks. I still don't understand what's so interesting about hearing a couple's private conversation.
"Why do you think so?" Mohit said, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Because you didn't even call me once today" she said.
Kriti was laughing hard and I was trying so hard to control my smile.
"You very well know how hectic this week has been. I am really sorry" he said, genuinely feeling guilty.
"It's okay, I understand" she said and Mohit snatched the phone from Kriti.
"By the way how are my two favorite girls?" she asked him.
Mohit, eyeing both of us said "they are fine but I think they are in mid life crisis."
"What" she yelled. "Are they with you right now?" she asked.
"Yes" he said.
"Put the phone on speaker. I can't let my girls face crisis alone" she said.
"It's already on speaker" he said.
"I know...it must be Kriti who must have put the phone on speaker" she said.
"Yes...you are right" Mohit said.
"Anyways girls, what midlife crisis is Mohit talking about?" she asked us.
"You know bhabhi..." saying this she snatched the phone from Mohit and narrated everything to her. From my dreams about Akash, to my 1st encounter with him at the restaurant and then today.
"Oh my god...oh my god..oh my god. I can't wait to come see you guys" she said, squealing like a kid.
"Baby, I need to drop them to the guest house. You can chat with them later" he said.
"Okay" she said and disconnected the call.
He drove us to the guest house and went away dropping us.
Once we settled ourselves, I was still thinking about what Mohit said.
Pondering over the thoughts, sleep engulfed me.
Next day, waking up, both me and Kriti went to the training center and decided to have lunch in the cafeteria. It was my idea to be precise.
"Why do you want to go to cafeteria?" Kriti asked, narrowing her eyes at me.
"Because for the past two days, we've been seeing them in the restaurant. So it'd be better if we go to cafeteria today for lunch. We need to avoid them as much as possible" I was saying but then I bumped into someone.
He steadied me and as soon as I was about to say thank you, my breath got hitched, looking at his face.
"Akash" I said.
