"If you don't stop me now, I never plan on stopping ever again."
Laura's POV
As soon as he opened the door I saw Ross sitting slumped down on the bed with Dave next to him. Dave was the first one to look up and smiled brightly before glancing at Ross and standing up. Ross was still looking at the floor.
Dave walked up to me and gave me a pat on the shoulder, "I'll leave him to your hands.", he whispered before gesturing Jordan to follow him.
I looked at them with furrowed brows before entering the room and hearing the door close after me.
Did they really close the door and leave us alone ?
Alright, let's keep things cool. I'm just here to help him treat his wounds.
I stepped closer to where he was and than kneeled down right next to him to face him, making his attention turn towards me.
I bit my lip nervously before tilting Ross chin up to get a better look at his face and the evidence of the fight. I delicately observed the wounds on his face.
I let my gaze travel up to his eyes, letting our gazes meet. I turn away and cough awkwardly before standing up and sitting down next to him on the bed. I start looking through the bag and find an ointment. Taking it out, I applied a small amount on a little cut next to his eyes.
"Thank god you're not as badly hurt as Alec..", I tried to break the awkward silence. I glanced at him for a split second to see that he was watching my every move and glanced to the lower part of my face.
I carefully put a band aid on the wound I finished treating and saw that he had another one his face.
Without thinking, I reached out to his face and touched a small bruise next to his lips, "That must've hurt a lot."
My eyes traveled back up from his lips to his eyes, making me realise his intense stare. We looked at each other for a while before he grabbed my hand, stopping it from touching his face, not breaking our gaze.
He gave me a soft smile before muttering, "I'll take it from here."
He put the hand that was in his grip on his right chest and I could feel his fast heartbeat under my touch.
My heart skipped a beat as I looked up at him again and realised that he was slowly leaning forward.
Is he actually going to.. ?
I held my breath and hoped that my heartbeat wasn't as loud to him as it was to me. He got so close that I could feel his breath tickle my lips.
"Push me away if you want me to stop.", he whispered in the now close proximity before adding, "If you don't stop me now, I never plan on stopping ever again."
After a moment's hesitation, my eyes darted between his eyes and lips. I closed my eyes and heard him mutter, "I'll take that as a no.", before shifting forward and closing the gap between our lips.
It took me a few seconds to come back to reality. He was actually kissing me.
I was not prepared for this. I mean, I know kisses don't happen prepared but.. I did not expect this here. All kind of thoughts started crossing my mind.
What lip balm did I put on ? Was it a colored one ?
Am I even good at kissing ?
What if I have difficulty breathing and get an asthma attack ? Wait... I don't even have asthma
What will follow after this ?
I put all thoughts aside and finally started kissing back, making him stop for a second before he slowly slid one of his hands up to the side of my neck, resting it along the crook behind my ear and my hair.
He kissed me slowly, carefully, as if afraid he would do something wrong and make me stop.
Even though there was uncertainty in what would happen with us after this kiss, I couldn't help but feel relieved that these feelings were mutual.
My hands travelled his chest up and I put them around his neck, pulling him closer.
I felt him smile into the kiss before he slowly leaned more forward, pushing me gently onto the bed. Just as he began to deepen the kiss, the door opened.
I widened my eyes startled.
Not knowing what to do, I pushed him off of me and heard a loud thud. I grimaced, realizing that he had landed on the ground.
This really wasn't how I expected this kiss to end.
