the room fell still for a minute the only thing I could hear was my heart beating against my chest
Hakim continued
" no normal person can survive all the injuries she has, it's a miracle she has lived this long. She has multiple periods of starvation. And more scar tissue than I have seen on a single human being."
I looked down at her sleeping body.
We dressed her in our white linen gown that most people in the infirmary wear. Her hair was loosely braided back by the nurses revealing her face
"She is a truly beautiful specimen. We have never seen anything like her before. I'm sure the soldiers would have a field day and our princess would be truly jealous!" Hakim said trying to lighten the mood but nothing could take my mind off the fact that she may be dead in the morning
"My prince the king has summoned your presence in the throne room" a meek servant with sad eyes and long blonde hair entered the room
She wore a dress smaller than princess Lulia, but just as extravagant.
I nodded and dismissed her quickly
Looking back at lunas injured body before leaving the room
I walked through the castle staring at the walls
Portraits scaling back through all the royal family members
stopping once I reached a familiar face

A grand chandelier made of the best crystals the isle of light and the dark lands had to offer
Extravagant painting covered the walls adding to the grandness of the room
Despite all its beauty, I hated this room the most
"I heard that you've brought back the dragon and a pet" I ignored the feeling in my chest after the pet remark
I held my gaze to the floor to prevent the king's anger
"We shall host a Ball celebrating your successful mission as well as the princess's arrival. You will dance with her as well as the most suitable women there."
I cringed at the thought of the women flocking around me with seducing eyes and lingering hands
"We shall also show off our newest prize" I could imagine that contentious smile on his face
"Father I don't think that it is a good idea to reveal that we have caught this rare dragon. We might become sensitive to attack putting out nation in trouble"
"Silence" he spoke not raising his voice but the threat was heard
"Please put on your best clothes and make a grand entrance that would make our princess proud," he said leaving no room for discussion
I turned on my heels and walked out of the room
As grand and beautiful as the castle may seem this will be my prison until the king steps down and let me go
The halls where I once played the halls I now truly avoid
I walked back to the medics' corner
Nurses walked around preparing herbs for hakim as well as tending to other patience
