"I'll git it, hun," Carl yelled, as he went to the front door.
When he opened it, he saw Billy and Eva Rideout.
"Hey guys. What's up?"
Billy shrugged.
"I have no idea, me son. Wese got a text from Tanya sayin' dat wese 'ad to come to yer place 'cause she were gonna FaceTime us at nine tonight."
Lindsay walked to the front door.
"We got the same text from Quinton. Come in youse two. Ise 'as da computer set up."
Billy and Eva came in and hung up their coats.
"Want a beer?"
"Sounds good," Eva nodded.
A couple minutes later, the four were sitting in the living room, sipping on their beer.
"Linny, does youse 'ave any idea what dis bese all about?"
Lindsay shook her head.
"Not a clue, Eva. You?"
"Well me and Billy were talkin' 'bout a couple tings and dats why wese come 'ere a little early."
Carl started laughing.
"Has youse lost yer mind, hubby?"
Carl shook his head.
"Now youse tells me why our kids would wants us all together, so they could phone us.
Tink about it.
Dey took off together, for the first time. Wese all knows what dey bes doin'."
Lindsay slapped Carl across the shoulder.
"Dat bes me baby boy youse talkin' 'bout."
"And even worse, dat bes me little girl," Billy agreed.
"No disrespect, Billy, but wese all knows what dem two were doin'."
Eva rolled her eyes.
"Okay. Okay. So wese all knows dat our children been bumpin' ugly."
Billy started laughing.
"Bumpin' ugly? Me fuckin' nerves."
He took a mouthful of beer and sat forward in his chair.
"Looks. Wese all knows dat Tanya and Quinton bes connected. And dat bes a good ting."
"Tanya told me she gots a visit from Nanny Rideout," Lindsay informed Billy and Eva.
"Shes never said a ting," Eva pouted.
"Sorry, love," Lindsay apologized.
"Maybe Ise shouldn't 'ave said anyting."
Eva shook her head.
"No. Its bes fine. Dat not bes important. What bes important is what da kids wants to tells us all."
"Well," Carl nodded.
"Its either bes dat dey be official engaged or ..."
"Dey bes married," Billy finished the thought.
He looked at his wife.
"Eva and Ise kinda was tinkin' along dem lines."
Lindsay sat back on the couch and sighed.
"Ise will kill Quinton, ifin 'e runned off and got married."
"Not much wese can do, Linny, ifin dat bes what dey did."
Eva picked up her beer from the coffee table.
"Tanya bes a very strong, stubborn woman and shes doesn't always does what wese expects."
Lindsay shook her head.
"And Quinton would do whatever she says. Dat boy bes crazy 'bout 'er."
"I agree," Billy nodded, "and dat bes why me and Eva ain't dat upset 'bout all dis.
Ifin da kids did run off and git married, then wese 'as to support dem, even ifin it ain't what wese would expect."
Lindsay finished her beer and stood up.
"Anyones else wants another one?"
They all agreed.
A moment later, Lindsay returned with four beer. She spoke as she passed the beer around.
"Its been quite a year. First, me baby girl falls in love with another woman and now me son 'as maybe runned off and gotten married."
She sat down and took a cigarette from the pack on the coffee table.
"Fuck."
Eva laughed.
"Ise glad youse tinks dats funny, Eva."
Eva shook her head.
"Its jest bes dat da kids are gonna do what dey wants, Linny. Ise 'as seen Val and Randi together. Ise don't tink Ise ever seen two people more in love. Doesn't matters dat dey both bes women. What bes important is dat Val is 'appy and from whats Ise seen, dat girl bes on cloud nine.
And as far as Quinton and Tanya goes, well, Tanya 'as always been an old soul. Dat girl bes eighteen goin' on t'irty. And Ise knows she bes a little pushy at time, but Ise does knows dat she loves Quinton."
Lindsay took a deep breath.
"Ise knows. She telled me dat, 'erself. Ise jest always 'ad a ting in me mind to see me kids walk down da aisle. Youse knows. Da whole nine yards."
"Ise 'ad da same dream, Linny," Billy assured her.
"But its bes a different world now and da kids grows up faster and dey takes control of dere life. And dere don't bes no reason dat wese can't 'ave a weddin' fer dem, when dey comes back."
"Youse all assumin' dat dey bes married," Carl reminded them.
"Ise tinks wese be best to 'ear what dey 'as to say."
Lindsay looked at the clock on the wall.
"It bes almost nine."
She had no sooner finished, than her computer screen lit up.
"Its bes dem."
She accepted the FaceTime and a second later the screen filled with Tanya and Quinton's face.
"Hey youse two."
Three of the parents sat on the couch, while Carl sat on the floor, infant of the couch.
Lindsay adjusted the computer, so all could be seen.
"Can youse see us all?"
Quinton nodded."Hey Mom and Dad.
"Mr. and Mrs. Rideout."
"Seriously?" Tanya slapped Quinton on the shoulder.
"Since when did youse ever call my parents, Mr. and Mrs.?"
"Well considerin' da situation."
"Me nerves," Tanya laughed, waving.
"Hello Mom and Dad and Linny and Carl."
All four waved and said hello.
"Youse gonna tell 'em?" Quinton turned to Tanya, whispering.
"You are the man, Quinton."
The four parents couldn't help but snicker.
"Okay," Quinton whined.
Quinton took a deep breath and stared at the screen.
"Mom. Dad. Mr. and Mrs. Rideout."
"Again with the Mr. and Mrs?"
"I'm nervous," Quinton explained.
Tanya leaned across and kissed Quinton.
"Better now?"
"Yea," Quinton sighed.
He looked back at the screen, still silent.
"Quinton, honey," Lindsay spoke up.
"Just tell us what you wants to say."
"Well, its bes like this. Youse all knows dat Ise loves Tanya. More than Ise thinks any man could loves a woman and the couple days dat wese 'as spent together, 'as made me realize dat she bes da woman Ise wants to bes with da rest of my life.
So, me and Tanya decided dat wese didn't wants to wait. So, Ise asked her to marry me and she said yes."
The two mothers squealed, in joy, at the same time, hugging each other.
"Congratulations son," Carl added.
"Wese all 'appy," Billy laughed.
"Jest a second, everyone," Quinton yelled.
"Dere bes more.
Wese flew to Las Vegas and earlier today, wese got married."
"Told youse," Carl yelled, clapping his hands over his head..
"Ise jest hopes dat all of youse aren't disappointed in Tanya and me."
"Are youse happy?"
"Mom. Me jaw hurts. Ise 'aven't been able to take the smile off my face since me and Tanya left da Bay.
Ise never been so 'appy in me life."
Quinton hugged Tanya and kissed her passionately.
Lindsay wiped a tear from her eye.
"Then wese are 'appy for you too, honey."
"Mom. Dad. I knows this is a bit of a shock," Tanya explained.
"And I knows dis not bes like me, but it jest seemed like the right thing to do."
"Was it?" Eva asked.
Tanya took a deep breath and stared at Quinton.
"Mom. I have never felt so loved in my whole life. Quinton is a wonderful man. I just feels bad dat I tormented him for these past few years."
"Because youse wasted some good time together? Time dat youse could 'ave gotten to know each other?"
Tanya laughed.
"Okay that ...
and the fact that the sex is fucking amazing," Tanya smirked, evilly.
"Tanya Rideout," Eva yelled.
"Me fuckin' nerves."
"Not Rideout any more, Mommy," Tanya laughed.
"Ise Mrs. Pike now."
The two men started laughing.
"Way to go, Quinton," Carl yelled.
"Ise guess all those porn sites did come in handy."
"Porn sites?" Tanya yelled, glaring at Quinton.
Lindsay slapped her husband.
"Fuck."
Quinton blushed.
"Ise never looked at dem sites," he stammered.
"All jokes aside," Tanya spoke.
"We knows this is probably not what any of you wanted, but Quinton and I both felt that we needed this. He needed it, to get the confidence he needs to be the man he is meant to be and to be the best damn mechanic, in the world.
And I need Quinton. He keeps me grounded and with all the shit that has been going on lately, I really need that grounding.
And be assured. We are not two kids who are infatuated with each other."
"We're not?" Quinton moaned.
"Dat means youse don't really loves me?"
"Fuck," Tanya sighed, rolling her eyes.
"I have a lot of work to do with this one."
She hugged Quinton tight.
"I love Quinton and I needed this indecision behind me. With all that I 'ave taken on in the Bay, I needs the stability, of a good man.
And my Quinton is the best man I have ever met."
Eva wiped her eyes with a Kleenex.
"We are all happy, my love."
"And did I mention the sex is amazing?" Tanya laughed.
"Ise guess dem porn sites paid off."
"Oh me fuck," Quinton blushed.
"She's your daughter," Eva barked at Billy.
Lindsay took a Kleenex and wiped her eyes, as well.
"Tanya. Youse knows dat Ise has always looked at you, as a daughter. Now Ise jest happy dat Ise can finally call you my daughter."
She turned to Eva and hugged her again.
"I guess that makes us sisters now, Evie?"
Eva threw her arms around Lindsay, as well.
Both women erupted in sobbing.
"Now sees what youse two 'as done. Youse gots your mothers crying."
Carl turned and shook Billy's hand.
"Congrats Dad."
Billy put his arms around Carl's shoulder and hugged him quickly.
"Hello," Tanya yelled.
"Remember us?"
Lindsay turned back to the computer screen, taking a deep breath.
"Youse two looks so happy."
"We are, Linny," Tanya beamed.
She held up her hand.
"Look."
"My God, the rings are beautiful," Lindsay commented.
"How did Quinton afford that?"
Tanya turned to Quinton and kissed him.
"It was a joint mission. He can pay me back."
Quinton laughed.
"Jest married and already in debt."
He stared at Tanya.
"And worth every penny."
"So, when are you two coming back?" Eva wondered.
"We are gonna spend a couple more days and then we will fly back.
How are things back there? Have you heard from Perry and Cathy?"
Lindsay nodded.
"We have. They already put together a list of people and it looks like we won't be missing much time at all."
"Great. Can you guys talk to Ken and let him know that Quinton will be back in a couple days?"
"I will talk to Ken," Carl assured her.
Quinton sipped on a beer.
"Ise hope that none of youse are mad at us. I knows its not what youse probably imagined, but this was something Tanya and I both wanted to do."
"As long as you are both sure," Billy spoke.
"And as long as youse are both 'appy. And by what Ise seeing and hearing, youse are both ecstatic."
"We are, Dad. This is right. We both feel this and I know that you all feel the same thing.
I know it were a shock, but then that is what kids are supposed to do. Shock the shit out of their parents."
"Well, rest assured," Lindsay said, "wese are all happy here. Youse two belongs together and seeing both of youse now, there bes no doubt."
"Thank you, Linny," Tanya smiled, wiping her eyes.
"That means the world to us."
Tanya took a deep breath.
"Anyway, we are going to go. We have reservations for dinner and then we are going to play some roulette."
Quinton held out his hand, showing a handful of chips.
"Wese won almost five grand on the roulette wheel last night."
"Really," Eva squealed.
Tanya laughed.
"Yea. Ifin we does good again tonight, maybe my hubby can pay back the money he owes me."
"Tanya?" Quinton moaned.
"Really?"
"We both love all four of you and we just want you to knows that we are happy and we hope that you are happy for us."
All four parents assured the two that they were happy.
"Well, wese gonna go."
"Love youse," Tanya and Quinton said together, as they ended the FaceTime.
Lindsay closed the laptop on the coffee table and once again wiped her eyes. She turned to Eva and the two hugged again.
"Okay," Carl quipped, as he stood up.
"Billy and I will run to Tucker's and get a couple cases of champagne. You two send out TT text and let everyone know that our kids are married.
I figures we will 'ave a 'ouseful by da times wese gits back."
The celebration lasted into the morning.
