When we're all done with the work for today Mingyu offered me a ride back home. I don't know if I should accept it yet since I don't know if Jennie's home or not. I was just sitting at my desk when I got a text from Ella saying she got home and bump into Irene and she's now hanging out with them. She probably missed them so much. I'm wondering if I can send a text to Jennie, but I'm worried that Kang might check her phone or something. He did know that we're exes and I'm afraid that he'll know that I'm seeing Jennie behind his back. I ended up just texting Jisoo to check if Jennie's home. She replied so late and her reason is because she's busy playing games. But she replied and told me that Jennie's with Ella inside my apartment. I was gonna freak out because Jennie's in my apartment and Kang might barge in and all that but I received a text from Jennie herself saying that Kang will not be home til 10 pm so they can stay for dinner.
"So.. should I take you back home?" Mingyu ask in the most polite way
"No!" It came out quite defensive rather than an answer which caught him off guard. Fucking hell "I mean.. I'm fine. You can go home first. I'm gonna head home later" I said clearing it up
"You sure?" He asks once more so I just nod my head as an answer. He bid his goodbye to me and to the others. Some people are extending their work hours since they want everything to go smoothly tomorrow. We'll be having the shoot for the whole day tomorrow and probably will spend the whole night as well.
So when Mingyu left, I just waited for at least 10 minutes before clocking out. I hailed an Uber and go straight home. When I reached my apartment I can already tell how chaotic it is since my whole apartment is just filled with people talking and literally yelling at each other. I hope Cory doesn't get irritated by us-
"Cory you're here" I said seeing the woman at the couch with the guys next to her
"Jennie invited me over since you have your friends here. I'm also cooking dinner for everyone even though we also have food from take out" she said with her soft voice while Jisoo's yelling at the game she's playing with Ella and Seulgi
"Who took you home?" I turn my head around to see Jennie standing there
"I hailed an Uber Doctor Kim" I said making her chuckle "I'll just change my clothes" she nod at me before turning her heels around to go back to the kitchen. Irene and Rosie are probably there too. I jog towards my room to change as quickly as possible. Before leaving my room I look up at the clock and it's just 8pm so that's not too bad. We can have a proper dinner without Jennie and Ella rushing. I go back out and stayed with them in the living room while Cory went back to the kitchen. Ella didn't seem to notice me walk in earlier so when I sat next to her she immediately smile at me and lean on me as well while playing. I'm very happy that she's still this comfortable around me.
It didn't take too long til Cory calls us all to the kitchen to eat. There's literally 11 people inside the kitchen which makes it really chaotic even though Jisoo's calm now after her intense gameplay. I didn't have much chair since I dont eat with 10 people everyday. Some of them sits on the counter top while the guys are mostly standing while eating. I grab my fork to grab another piece of meat from the table since I'm also standing. I walk towards the table and grab a meat before walking back to where Jennie's standing but I noticed that she's just staring elsewhere. I put my plate down on the counter top right behind us and tilt my head to look at Jennie and that made her look up
"What?" She ask, snapping out from her daze
"You don't like the food?" I ask looking down at her plate, she did ate half of it already
"No, no, I just.. " I look at her and listen intently since the whole kitchen's full of chatter from these people "I noticed that I haven't had the time where I actually enjoyed dinner"
