Jennie's POV
Once we're out of the airport and heading to our hotel, Lisa's on a phone call with those people who'll help us. I called the hospital yesterday and they told me that they will send me paper works rather than asking me to come in the hospital to work. I guess the director also ordered them to give me paper works so I can enjoy my time here with just the three of us.
"Mommy, can we go and ride the bicycle?" Ella ask while Lisa's right in between us
"Sure, we can do that. Eomma will pay for everything" I said which immediately put Lisa's attention towards me making me laugh.
"Yeah, I'll see you guys later" Lisa said ending the call "what did you just say?"
"Nothin" I said looking towards Ella who's also smiling widely
"Jennie that's mean..." She said in the babiest way
"Is it?" I said playfully making her pout. As much as Lisa protects me through the whole process of this divorce, she is and will always be a baby. She's tough when she needs to be tough and when she wants to protect someone.
Lisa then turn head to talk to Ella about something. I can't really grasp their whole conversation as I was just looking at Lisa. I look down and put my hand on hers.. she didn't divert her attention towards me as she keeps talking to Ella, but when my hand landed on hers she automatically hold it as she rub her thumb on the back of my hand inattentively which made me smile. These little things about Lisa will always make my heart flutter. There's just this one person who will always have the same effect on you no matter how long it has been. No matter how many fights, misunderstanding, and anything that will taint their image in your perspective, you will still find comfort within them. That's something Lisa has that I can't find from Kang no matter how long our marriage has been. I just wish I disregarded her past mistakes. Ella and I would've been the happiest by now if I stick with her. It's not like I can change anything by now.
"Mommy.." Ella calls me out which snaps me out of my thoughts
"Hmm?"
"Eomma said, she's a better doctor than you are" I look at Lisa and she's looking out the window like she doesn't hear us
"Is that so?" I said and started pulling my hand off of her but she tighten her grip, not letting my hand go
"I'm kidding.." she said and pull my hand more which made me lean on her a bit
"Do you want to go back and work as a doctor?" I ask and lay my head on her shoulder as we drop the subject
"Should I?" She ask
"Eomma, I remembered the first time I met you. You're a great doctor.. you should go back" Ella said as she take her phone out to take a picture of the view outside the car
"I would love to have you as my colleague once everything is over. But if you wanted to continue your photography, I will support you"
"I'll think about it" I nod my head and wrap my arms around her arm as she place her hand on my lap to let me lay comfortably on her shoulder
Lisa's POV
Since we arrived around noon time here in Amsterdam, we reached our hotel room around 7:30pm. We called in for a room service because we're all too tired to go out. Ella went to bed first since she's too excited to go around tomorrow. We'll try and explore the city first and we'll also meet up with the people who will help us. I was in a phone call with them earlier, they said that we should take the train down to zaanse schans tomorrow. It's basically a neighborhood near Amsterdam.
After cleaning up, I grab my phone and call Jisoo. I need to check if it is worth going there since I really don't know the people who's going with us.
"What do you want? It's 3 am here!" Jisoo yell out... Well I didn't check the time difference
"This is just a quick question.. so your people back here told me to take the train down to zaanse schans tomorrow. I mean, is that worth it?" I said walking out of the bathroom and checking up Ella. We checked in a double bedroom since we won't be staying for too long.
"Just listen to them Lisayah.. they won't say or do something stupid to fuck it up. They told me about the whole plan so you will stay with them in zaanse schans. There's a rest house there and you guys will stay there for a couple of days. Then you will go to Haarlem which is around 20 minute drive from that neighborhood, the ex girlfriend lives in Haarlem. It will be easier for them and for you guys if you will stay there." I just listen to her while I search the whole room for Jennie. I walk out to the balcony and saw her standing there wrapped up in her coat. She turn to look at me and mouthed 'is that Jisoo?' making me nod. "Now please, don't call me at this time!" She said in the most pissed tone
"Alright alright... I'm just making sure"
"Oh also.. we will go back to LA once everything is finalized" she said probably talking about our group of friends
"What for?" I mean, I know they wanted to support Jennie on her divorce but they will all stay at my place again
"To annoy you.. now hang up so I can function tomorrow!" She told me to hang up but she ended the call first.
"Isn't it late there?" Jennie said
"Exactly why she's yelling at me" Jennie smile at the thought
"Serves you right"
"You're not gonna sleep yet?" I ask which makes her shake her head in response as she hold on to the railings infront of us. We stayed silent for a couple of minutes.. it's a comfortable kind of silence. Jennie's just staring ahead since the city lights can be seen clearly in our position.
"Do you feel uncomfortable?" She suddenly ask after a long time of silence
"No.. I'm good, it's a bit cold but-"
"Being with me" I was gonna repeat my answer but she turn her head to look at me "being with me when I'm still married" I just stare at her face as well when she asked that question "you told me before that you will not get tired no matter how long it will take for me to get divorced but.. to say the least, are you uncomfortable?"
"Well, if Morgan did gossip about you and I then people will gradually see me as a homewrecker.. does the thought of it bring me discomfort? Yes, it does. But your baggage is heavier than mine" I said waving my hand for her to come closer to me. She did as she wrap her arms around me while she's still looking at my eyes. I wrap my arms around her as well and rub her back softly. "As I told you before, I chose the situation that I am in right now. That makes us different. You chose to marry Kang thinking that he will treat you right, but shit happens and now you're stuck. However, you already warned me plenty of times as to what I am dealing with and I had a choice, I chose to help you not because I wanted to be a homewrecker, it's because I still love you and I will take any risk to get you out of that place you're in right now. You deserve better, and I'm not bragging but I am better" that last sentence makes her roll her eyes from me which made me laugh
"I'm kinda getting the chills out here.. I think it's time to go in" she said pushing me lightly to let her go
