Proverbs 15:33

"The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor."
~Proverbs 15:33 (ESV)

COMMENT:
The beginning of wisdom is the fear of God. How can we grow in wisdom and knowledge of God? The answer is simple. We seek Him through constant prayer and the reading of His word, but most of all, we must have complete faith in Him.

It sounds easier said than done, I know. We find ourselves distracted by outside things, we find ourselves in situations that shake our faith, but I promise you, the more you seek God and humble yourself before Him, the more strength He blesses you with to pull through.

This brings us to the second part of the verse. Go ahead and read it again. Humility is also an important thing to have when you are chasing after the ways of God. He can't do anything if you are so consumed with yourself that you have no room for anybody else. People cannot honor or respect you if you think of nobody but yourself.

That is why we must seek God with a humble and contrite heart. When we come before Him in this manner, we are in the perfect condition to be molded and shaped into what He wants us to be.
