CHAPTER FORTY FIVE

-: sixth year :-

── IN WHICH THEY TALK

. . .

"Well that went from zero to a hundred real quick." Fleur commented, as Elodie relayed the details of the previous night. "And he did all the work? Ellie darling, you have gotten yourself the perfect man."

"Perfect?" Elodie questioned, her eyes glazing over as she thought back over the months she had spent with the Weasley twins - one more than the other. "I mean he smiles and laughs when he's not supposed to, and kind of blurts things out without thinking but so far.. pretty perfect."

Fleur let out some form of high pitch squeal and Elodie jumped out of her skin, frowning as she felt the Delacour girl take her hands and begin to spin her arouund, the frown melting into a smile.

"You're in love, ma chérie." Fleur sang, as she spun the dark haired girl around, laughing and apologising in broken english as she bumped into a crowd of second years.

"Love? Me?" Elodie laughed, but this time out of disbelief. "Fleur, I've known him a matter of months. I can't be in love."

"So they stuck the boy over 100 feet under water-" Fleur began.

"133 to be exact." Elodie butted in, and the blonde girl rolled her eyes as they walked down a corridor, Fleur linking their arms,

"Fine, they stuck Fred 133 feet underwater for no reason? They didn't recognise that there was something between you that warranted him becoming someone who meant more to you than anyone else - even more than me?" Fleur tilted her head.

"Is this your way of asking me if I'm planning on replacing you, because if you continue with this nonsense I feel tempted to do just that." Elodie joked - only for Fleur to poke her cheek.

"Elodie Beaumont you will not replace me until the day I die. And even then, you shall not replace me because I am simply irreplacable."  The Delacour girl shrugged, with an air of all-knowing.

"Quite frankly, all that I'm saying is that you better keep hold of him. And that you are falling for him, whether you like it or not." Fleur finished, a smile on her face.

"Maybe you're right, maybe you're not. But don't tell me that you're going to bug me about this for the next few months." Elodie made a face at the thought of it, really not wanting to deal with it.

"I'll bug you until you admit it." Fleur said. "And that's a promise. I'll bug you every morning, every lunch - every time I see him."

"Talking of him." Elodie quickly said, eyes widening as they turned a corner and saw multiple people, two heads of ginger in the middle of them. "Fleur, don't you dare say anything.

"Is this a dig that I can't understand English? Because you know I can't speak it - Ellie that's just mean." Fleur whined, the brunette shushing her as they approached the group, holding her hand out and silently counting down from five.

"Ellie? Did I hear Ellie?" A voice asked, and from the group emerged Fred, a smile on his face. "I did hear Ellie, good afternoon, love." The Weasley boy said, leaning down to place a kiss on the top of Elodie's cheek. "Fleur." He nodded at the blonde, who smiled slightly, waving almost sarcastically.

"Hey Fleur, you don't mind if I talk to Fred quickly?" Elodie said suddenly, and Fred looked confused by the French, until Elodie quikclyy translated it for him.

"Of course not." Fleur said. "Just remember you don't have any more spare uniforms and this is a public area." The girl winked as Elodie gasped.

"I hate you!" She called after the blonde girl, before turning back to Fred. "It's really only quick, and not serious and I really do need to be quick because Madame Maxime is expecting me for tea in ten minutes."

"Don't worry about it El, just say whatever you need to say. And if you're late to Madame Maxime then tell her it was my fault." Fred reassured her, and Elodie frowned, before pulling him around into a less crowded corridor, sitting down on a bench.

"Can you just listen to me for a moment?" She asked, and Fred instantly nodded. "Ok.. so.. I'm considering moving schools. Like actually this time. Nothing's definite but I'm thinking about it. Ok, that's it."

"Thank you for thinking about it." Fred smiled. "And only actually move if you want to - not because I want you to."

"Maybe Fleur was right." Elodie said, a smile on her face. "Now I really have to go but thank you so much." SHe continued, getting up and kissing him on the cheek.

"You better tell me what Fleur was right about!" Fred yelled after her.

"Not planning on it any time soon!" Elodie replied as she turned the corner. Fred sat back in his seat, a smile on his face. He was glad that Fleur was right - whatever that meant.

a/n
hi so i had a pm
about how fred and
elodie are moving rather
quickly and doing certain things
and also how elodie
and fleur are as friends and
i just wanna say that even though
none of them are necessarily ordinary,
i want them to experience things that
teenagers do and how they can act like
they don't have the pressures of the worlds
on their shoulders

it's just generally my thoughts that many
characters in hp had to grow up far too
quickly, and i just want them to have as
much fun as they can during these times
