(Yeah, I know time skips are overused but I don't care)
It was a normal Saturday morning and I decided to spend my free time in helping my mom for today, since I have already passed all my requirements and tests are already done so I don't have anything to review.
While I was sweeping some dead orange leaves in our backyard, my three friends came in running excitedly with big smiles on their faces, it caught my attention since they were all making a fuzz about it.
"Yuna, we heard from Prof. In that your test results were..." Nim said with a little bit of suspense
Of course, I was suddenly nervous and feeling anxious about it since I promised my dad that I will do good on my exam and see him this year.
"What? tell me!" I said losing both my patience and my sanity
They exchanged glances at each other which made me have a bad feeling about this especially because my mom was standing right behind me and she can just simply push me out of the gate if ever I failed this test so I was hoping that won't happen.
"That you were the top of the class" Cheer said
It still didn't sink in for the first few seconds but when I realized it, I jumped in joy and hugged my mom.
"I'M SEEING DAD! I'M GOING TO AMERICA!" I said while aggressively jumping and shaking the hell out of my mom, but the three of them have flat expressions on their faces, as if they still have something to say
"Yuna, can we talk? Alone..." Cheer said, I feel like I knew what this was gonna be but at the same time I still don't so I asked permission from my mom and took my friends upstairs, to the rooftop so no one can possibly hear us.
"What is it?" I asked them while closing the door leading to the stairs going downstairs that could be a passage for my mom or sister to hear what we're talking about
"Earlier, when we were on the ice cream shop, Hyun was there, though she wanted to talk to you but she had no time and said that she wanted us to tell you something urgent" Cheer said in a serious manner while the others kept their heads low
"Then what is it?" My heart pounded with every word that comes out of my mouth, I taught myself to expect worse when dealing with things so I wouldn't get myself hurt like what happened months ago.
"Though this seems like good news, but Hyunsuk got accepted in the Seoul football league and he may or may not need to move out of the town for the training camp and with you, ranking highest on the exam and going to see your father in America, might just be a subtle way to tell you that after high school..."
"...we may not see each other again" I said, realizing what she wanted to tell me
It's almost the end for the both of us but he still doesn't know how I really feel towards him, it will be a waste of all the efforts and the challenges I've gone through because of him if I don't tell him what I feel.
"Does he know that you have hidden feelings for him?" Cheer said interrupting my thoughts
I nodded 'no' and looked away, at this point, I don't know what to do anymore.
"But you've liked him since first year, right?" Kie exclaimed, all of them couldn't believe that I've kept my feelings for him after all these years
"I don't think you should tell him" Nim said making me wonder what's her point
"So that, you'll be the world's most foolish girl of liking a guy for almost 3 years now and not telling him how you feel towards him" Nim said in a teasing manner
