The man I saw in my dreams

Chapter 2

*1 month ago...

"Maddie... "

Lumingon ako at nakita syang naghihintay sakin. Lumapit ako sa kanya at ngumiti.

"Halika..." sabay lahad nya ng kamay sa akin.

Without hesitation, I gave my hand on him.

"Saan tayo pupunta?" I asked.

He didn't answer me. Instead, he guided me into the tree that we always sit on. Like our meeting place or 'Tagpuan'.

He held my hand and look at me in the eyes as if he's going to lose me or he has something to tell me.

"Is there a problem?"

Yumuko sya at bumuntong hininga  bago umiling. Nag-angat ulit sya ng tingin sa akin at hinawakan ang kamay ko ng mahigpit. Nanatili naman akong nakangiti sa kanya kahit na naguguluhan na ako sa mga ikinikilos nya.

"I have something to tell you..."

"What is it?"

Tumitig sya sa mga mata ko na parang tinitimbang kung magsasabi ba sya o hindi. Bumuntong hininga sya ng malalim na parang hirap na hirap magdesisyon.

"C'mon! Wag ka namang mambitin! Sabihin mo na!" makulit kong sabi. Sinusubukang pagaanin ang sitwasyon pero hindi parin gumana.

He looked down and sighed again. We stayed on that position until he finally look at my eyes again. Napawi ang ngiti ko sa nakita. A tear escaped from his right eye. I want so badly to wipe it but I stopped myself from doing anything. He squeezed my hand and continue.

"Maddie—

*There was a time in my life when I open my eyes and there you were...

*You were more than a dream I could reach out and touch you Boy that was long ago...

I tried to close my eyes to go back to my dream but I was distracted by that stupid music. Nakailang biling na ako sa higaan pero hindi na talaga ako dinalaw ng antok. Magpapatugtog nalang lalakasan pa talaga?! Pamwisit din eh no?

But wait... I've dreamed about him... Again.

*There are some things that I guess I'll never know...

*When you love someone, you gotta learn to let them go...

"Ate! Patayin mo nga yang pinapatugtog mo! Ang ingay!" sigaw ko dahil sa iritasyon.

"Ha?" she said like she doesn't hear what I said.

"Patayin mo kako yan—

"Hakdog!"

Dali-dali akong lumabas ng kwarto at binato sya ng throw pillow galing sa sofa. Umilag naman sya kaya sa iba tumama yung unan.

*When I dream about you, that's when everything's all right...

*You're in my arms, here next to me, forever...

"Hoy ano ba?! Nagluluto ako dito! Kung iyon, tumama dito sa niluluto ko... Naku! Wala kang kakainin!" pagalit nya kunwaring sinabi pero halatang natatawa naman.

"Eh ba't ba kasi kay ingay-ingay mo ha! Natutulog yung tao eh..."
