The sky was a velvet purplish color, like a gigantic bruise squashed onto the clouds. The stars were just beginning to be smattered onto the atmosphere.

Tammy was lying on her back, admiring the cosmos when it happened.

Her life was about to be changed by a boy named Luke Higgens, one of the biggest nerds and most harrassed kids at her school. He didn't let that get to him, though. Here he was, about to make the scientific breakthrugh of the century.

Somehow Tammy just happened to be in his way.

Her weedy hilltop was somehow stopping Luke. So when he pulled his lever, and watched the electicity crackle off it, he was shocked by the result. His whole experiment shut down. He pounded his fists on the table.

Somewhere on a weedy hill, there was a bolt of lightning that struck a girl named Tammy in the chest. And then she was gone.
