Part 10- pick a side

Just as I had calmed down from my freak out session and went back to my phone a notification of a DM from Dream came up and my heart started beating at a million miles per hour. I got the courage to open it and it was him asking for my discord name which of course I gave him right away. At this point I released that I had left Alex for quite a while so I unmuted myself and tried my best to be calm. He asked me where I went so I told him that I would text him so that his stream didn't know what was happening just incase I wasn't mean to tell people. He sent back a text freaking out too.

Just as he finished his stream I went on discord and accepted Dream's friend request which was met with a message.

Dream: you have been invited to join a server

I messaged him back thanking for allowing me to join and saying it was such an honour that he considered me worthy enough to join them. In real life I wasn't as calm as my message came across in reality I was shaking and honestly about to faint from the amount of emotions I was experiencing at once. I took a screenshot and sent it to Alex because I assumed that he didn't know this was happening, I was correct because he answered me straight away.

Alex: no way congrats y/n/n

You: thanks Alex, we can finally play together now

Alex: yes but first you have to chose which side you are joining

You: oh gosh I have a feeling that this isn't going to go well

Alex: it will be fine as long as you don't side with Dream

You: ok but I might have to think about that one

Alex: don't you dare

You: you will find out tomorrow when I join for the first time

I got added to a group chat for the smp and everyone on it said hi and that they were exited to welcome me tomorrow. I was given a bit of a heads up that this was going to be an important part of the plot but the decision was completely up to me who I chose to side with. I felt so important that I was going to affect the plot with my decision and that everyone was going to try and get me on their side.

Skip to the next day

I am currently setting up my stream and making sure I can log onto the dream smp before I officially start my stream. It is kind of early in the morning because most people are going to be on the server to welcome me and it's the evening in Europe.

I started my stream and said hi to the chat for a little bit before telling them that we were going to go on my world which was a complete lie. Normally I would switch my screen to show me logging in but today I didn't so people didn't see me click on the dream smp. I smiled before changing my screen to show myself at the community house on the smp.

"Surprise guys, I have been invited to join the smp" I said

My whole chat were freaking out about the fact that I was now on the smp, as I was talking to them more and more people gathered around my character and joined my vc to say hi. Alex was the first to join me and he explained a bit of what has been happening on the server so that I was up to speed. Once everyone who was meant to be here was ready we got started.

"Y/n welcome to the smp, its great to have you on here" Dream said in quite a sinister voice

"Thank you its great to be here" I replied

"It's now time that you pick what side you are going to join so y/n who will it be?" He asked

"You see I'm not too sure who to side with so how about you all try to convince me to join your side, most convincing wins" I said

"Well then you should definitely join me, George and Sapnap because we tend to not get involved in all the stupid wars on this server and if we do we always join the side of chaos which is the winning side every time" Dream said

"You should join l'manburg because we recently just rebuilt it and its so much better than before, we aren't getting involved in any unnecessary conflict this time and we are going to be peaceful" Tubbo said

"You should join the badlands because we um we stay neutral in most situations" bad boy halo said

I honestly hadn't thought about joining the badlands so that quickly ruled out one of my options

"I think that that is everyone" Dream started before he was interrupted

"Hey what about El rapids, you should so join me y/n because you would be the first member so you can be Vice President and it would be so great" Alex said

"Ok now thats everyone so what is your decision?" Dream asked

"Well I'm not going to be joining the badlands sorry bbh, and Dream as much as I'm thankful that you brought me onto this server I think that you are just trying to take me away from the others because from what I have heard you aren't too popular. So I think I'm going to be joining l'manburg but Quackity I'm more than happy to also join El rapids if you still want me" I said

"What, you don't want to join the most powerful side because of your little friend, you are so going to regret that" Dream said angrily before leaving (fyi in this y/n is joining after the war but before Tommy was exiled from l'manburg)

Tubbo and everyone else in l'manburg welcomed me and showed me around the place as well as some other important parts of the server like what used to be pogtopia. The other soon left to go and do their own thing leaving me and Alex to do whatever.

He officially welcomed me to El rapids and explained their position in the server a bit more because I didn't know anything about it because he only just started it. I also asked him to explain some of the things that were cannon and what was and wasn't lore because frankly it was kind of confusing when you try to google it. He told me everything that I needed to know before getting me to help him work on building up El rapids seeing as I was the Vice President.

We stayed on for a few hours being productive at times but mostly doing stupid bits for our stream, Alex is honestly so creative with the bits that he does I just had to go along with whatever he was doing. Sometimes I was laughing so much that I couldn't do the bit justice which I felt kind of bad about.

I decided to end my stream after 3 hours of being on the smp and told my chat to go show some support to the other creators on the server because no one else was still streaming I decided to raid someone random.

I got off my computer and went on my phone to delete my tweet about my stream, while on twitter I noticed that something I had said to Alex on stream was number 4 on trending which to me was so insane because nothing I ever say on stream ever had any long lasting impact. I took a screenshot to tweet out.

Today had been so crazy I can't wait to see where this whole thing goes, who knows I might make some life long friends from this everyone is really nice after all.

Authors note- what do you guys think about y/n joint the smp and l'manburg. I have been working ahead with plans for this story be be prepared for some cool storyline both on the smp and outside of it.
