// Childe x Zhongli Short Oneshots // Genshin Impact

[Nyctophobia]

I sincerely apologize for not uploading much, there are just a few things in life I had to fix, also, this oneshot will be about 300 words shorter than usual.

Childe was bored, he had nothing to do, The Northland Bank had no problems to solve, no one was owing debt, and there were no quests for him to do. He let out a sigh.

'Something the matter, Childe?' Aether's voice appeared out of no where,

'Huh? Nothing's wrong...just bored..' Childe groaned,

'Well, I've got something for you, Zhongli was asking me to help him today, but I told him I was busy. Maybe you could help?' Aether suggested,

'Okay, I'll head there, then.' Childe stood up,

'All right, good luck!' Aether smiled,

Childe proceeded to walk to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor..

'Good afternoon Ms.Ferry Lady, is Zhongli here today?' Childe asked,

'Well yes he is, you may head inside.' The ferry lady said.

Childe enters the parlor, not surprised to see Zhongli inside.

'Oh? Childe? What are you doing here?' Zhongli asked,

'I heard that you needed help, can I help?' Childe replied,

'Of course you can, we need to go to Qingce Village as someone is planning a funeral there and contacted us.' Zhongli said.

'Ah, okay then, when will we leave?' Childe asked,

'Tommorow morning, we can meet here and we will head to Qingce Village right away.'

The next morning....

Childe ran to the parlor, not wanting to be late. Zhongli was standing there, waiting.

'You're here. Just in time.' Zhongli smiled,

'Good thing I made it in time! So shall we go?' Childe asked, recieving a nod from the other.

Childe and Zhongli proceeded to walk all the way to Qingce Village, taking breaks on the way. Finally, they reached the destination.

'Whew! That was a long walk..' Childe said,

'Indeed it was, but let's start setting up the funeral.' Zhongli said, and started to prepare. The two spent the whole day working on the funeral, it was night time. The man who asked for the funeral approached them,

'Thank you for accepting my request, and also attending the funeral. As a thank you, you may rest here for the night.' the man said,

The man guided the two to a house. 'This is where you two can stay, have a good night!' Childe and Zhongli thanked the man as they entered the house. There were two beds, one for Childe, and one for Zhongli, it also had a cozy feel. Zhongli turned off the lights as the two lied on their beds.

'Good night, Childe.' Zhongli said,

'G-good night to you too, Zhongli.' Childe replied.

Zhongli was about to close his eyes after a few minutes of staring at the ceiling, but suddenly heard some whimpering.. It sounded like the whimpering came from Childe.

'Childe? What's wrong? Are you okay?' Zhongli asked,

'N-nothings wrong...I-it's just...that I have nyctophobia... (fear of the dark)' Childe said, a little embarrassed,

'Oh..I see..' Zhongli got off his bed and went over to Childe's.

'W-what are you doing..?' Childe asked, then received a hug from Zhongli.

'You don't have to be afraid of anything. I'm here, don't worry.' Zhongli comforted Childe,

'Thanks..' Childe said,

'Now go to sleep, we still have to walk back tomorrow.' Zhongli smiled,

Childe suddenly felt okay. He wasn't afraid anymore, he had the urge to smile, Zhongli's comforting made him feel safe. And the two cuddled through the night..
