Come Home

Time to let the flames burn up my chest,

Because I can't breathe anymore,

I will let the games throw out the best

Of me, I'm gonna slam the door.

Turn down my strength as my fears appear to escalate,

Turn up my pain as I begin to blate.

You reflect me as I turn my back,

But you're pierced in the same position as I face you before the mirror is wracked.

I wanna see you again,

Before I have to pretend,

That I have nothing to lose,

I'm tired of lying the truth.

I haven't seen you in so long,

I can't picture how I held to be strong,

If I had a chance to look over my life,

I would take the chance,

Please come home back to me, back to her,

And we can start over again.

I can remember the day you left me in her arms, in her broken arms.

I never understood your words but I did understand your alarms,

You waved goodbye

in front of my tear-stained hazel eyes,

You had no choice to leave, it was the beginning of the end.

I wish I could start over,

I am so broken-hearted,

In my dreams I see you,

I wish you could come home but it seems to good to be true.

I wanna see you again,

Before I have to pretend,

That I have nothing to lose,

I'm tired of lying the truth.

I haven't seen you in so long,

I can't picture how I held to be strong,

If I had a chance to look over my life,

I would take the chance,

Please come home back to me, back to her,

And we can start over again.

Tell me that I am beautiful,

Although you have never seen me this much older.

Tell me that you will love me,

No matter what happens when it gets colder.

I want you to come home,

Come running for me,

Come running for her,

Don't ever let me go,

If you ever come home.

This was actually meant to be a song that I had written myself about a young child who had watched their father leave as he had to leave for war. I am sorry if this is quite a down poem but this is one of my favourites I have written :) the last two verses were added on as I felt it was too short to be a poem. I hope you like it!
