3 minutes and 38 seconds. The length of the song. Ace kept glancing at me as we played. Something was different about his looks though. It was...seductive. No one noticed and only I saw it. Strange how everything can change from Hey this guy is my best friend-to-this man knows how my bed smells like.
Anyways...
Right now, everyone is listening to the recording of us. It sounds magnificent, not gonna lie. Sounds like something I should listen to when I'm working.
"You guys did brilliantly well!" Kat takes off her headphones and turns to us. We slap on a proud smile and giggle.
"Well then," 2D says. "This is all we're gonna do together?" Melancholia could be heard in his voice. Yeah, it sure was fun to play music with them. Memories flood in and some tears well out of my eyes.
Meeting Ace and the gorillaz was fun. Reuniting with Russel have me a good and warm feeling. Ace bumping into me while he was being a silly little criminal was... kinda frightening but funny at the same time. Him going to jail and me getting shot was horrible. Everything plays through my head like a movie.
"Wow... you guys are so talented!" Marina gasps. Oh, I forgot she was here lol. "I wish I was part of a band."
"Thanks hehe," Audrey laughs softly. We all spread out to clean up and put our instruments away. But Ace follows me to the living room where my bass case waits.
"Well it was nice meeting you, doll face," he stands next to me and sighs. As I put my bass away, my thoughts keep running around and around. Boy, I'm gonna miss the Gorillaz. And of course, I'm really gonna miss Ace.
"You think we'll see each other again?" I ask hopefully. Ace huffs tentatively. Worry is in the air and everything gets uneasy. Like that one feeling when there's a gender reveal going on.
"I- I don't think so," he scratches his neck. My blood stops flowing right after I hear those words come out of his lips. I turn around and look into Ace's eyes. There were tears.
"Ace I-"
"Shh," Ace presses his finger on my lips. "I'll miss you too, y/n." He says my name in a wobbly voice. I feel his arms pull me closer to his body. With no warning, he pulls me through the halls and into the stairs. We sit down and entangle our fingers together.
Who knew it would be hard to say goodbye?
Aaaaaand that's it for today! Though it may sound like the end of the story but...
