A Letter To My Sisters
The Curses That Come Out Of Their Mouths
The Arrows They Let Loose From Their Bows
Their Whips Are Used To Inflict Pain On Our Bodies
Claiming The Rights They Decleared They Have Over Our Souls
Centuries Of Pain And Humiliation Faced By The Ones That Came Before Us Could Never Be Justified
Moments Of Pure Agony Present Ones Face They Seem To Glorify
Somehow From A Young Age You Were Taught That Your Voices Do Not Matter
And That Your Achievements Do Not Count
Because There Is Only One Purpose For Your Existence
To Continue Their Lineage
And To Do So Without Resistance
You Were Taught To Be Comfortable With Being Pushed To The Background
Never Daring To Take The Lead
It Was Your Portion To Never Dream
Conditioned To Never Scream
Walking Around With Your Head Down
Fighting To Stay Alive
But Not Living Life
You Became Trapped In Your Mind
Because You Were Tired Of Living To Survive............
