DESCLAIMER Before we begin I would like to clarify that even though the characters exist in real life, they may not resemble them in their behaviors. So I ask you not to judge them and not to judge me. This is also a translation from the original italian story, which I wrote it too, so I'm sorry if they might some mistakes I made during the translation. That said, happy reading, I hope you enjoy it! 🥰
It was 4 pm and Jennifer was hastily knocking her fingers on the door of the taxi that was supposed to take her to work.
The move to Korea had been completely unexpected: the owner of the restaurant she ran had told her just a week before that she would have to go to Korea in order to run the new restaurant that he would open soon.
As soon as it was communicated to her she accepted without hesitation, since nothing was holding her back in Italy: in the previous months she had concluded a relationship of five years that had left a well-marked scar on her heart; she did not have particularly important friendships as, despite being only 25, all of her childhood friends had been in a relationship for some time and she was no longer part of their priorities.
The language barrier did not scare her, having learned Korean since an early age from her brother's (now) wife, as the two had an age difference of about sixteen years, who came from that country. Their parents had passed away since her early childhood, so his brother Kevin and his partner Minjun had been her only family.
After what seemed to be an eternity, she had finally arrived at her destination. She hastily gave the taxi driver what was due and got out of the car, being careful not to fall from the white high heels.
The restaurant looked like the exact replica of the one she worked in in Italy: the outside was cherry-colored, with a sign that read "Beppe's kitchen, the real Italian food".
As soon as she entered, she found four people waiting for her, who bowed as soon as they saw her, a practice she was clearly not used to. A girl with short hair and a body with well-defined curves approached her, giving her a wide smile and showing off an eloquent English.
-Pleased to meet you boss, my name is Hwasa.
The other three people remained behind her, clearly nervous.
- Thank you very much for the welcome, and you can speak to me in Korean. Even if I didn't know I had to go here until a week ago, I have a good command of the language.
Upon hearing the news, all the other employees instantly rejoiced, and started introducing themselves.
- I'm Yong-sun.
-My name is Hyunjin
- I'm Jackson.
Being around these good-looking people, Jennifer wondered why these guys weren't famous actors or something.
- Well guys, now that we all know each other, let's get to the point. Everything you think you know about Italian cuisine, throw it away. I can assure you that Italians are truly uncompromising when it comes to their food, so today I will teach you how to cook the simplest dishes on our menu.
She made her way towards the kitchen and the employees hurried to follow her silently.
When she arrived at the station, she took everything she needed to prepare a carbonara.
-Excuse me- Hyunjin interrupted- aren't you supposed to use cream?
Jennifer rolled her eyes, sighing.
-Guys, I think you have a lot to learn.
She spent an entire afternoon explaining which ingredients they should absolutely avoid, as she had already inquired about the vision of Italian cuisine in Korea.
Although only Yongsun was in charge of cooking and Jackson was the assistant cook, the Italian girl explained that it was necessary for everyone to know what the dishes they served were made of.

It was 9 pm, and the work for that day was done.
Hwasa walked over to her, smiling at her once more.
- I know you've never been to Korea, do you like it?
- I can't tell you. I have recently arrived here and have not yet had the opportunity to walk around.
- This is not good, you absolutely must see what you are missing. Me and the other guys are going to a club where we usually perform as a band. How about coming with us?
Jackson approached too.
- Of course, you have to come. You will see, it will be fun!
She had no choice but to give in to the insistence of the two, so she accepted the proposal.

When the arrived at the designated place they found a long line of people, mostly girls, waiting to make their entrance to the place, an unexpected number of people since it was only Monday.
Yongsun turned to the others. -Wow, today it's more crowded than I expected.
Hwasa smiled - Don't you remember who should have performed today?
The girl made a thoughtful expression, then a spark lit in her eyes. -Oh right, that's why this big crowd.
Jennifer listened to their conversation, having no idea who they were talking about.
Hyunjin frowned in annoyance. -I don't understand why you are all so obsessed with him. He may be good looking and talented, but he still has an insufferable personality.
Jackson, tired of hearing their speeches and eager to go inside, interrupted the conversation.
-Guys it's time to go inside.
The boy made his way followed by the others and nodded to the bouncer who let them in.
The interior of the place was smaller than Jennifer expected, and huge crowds of people crowded towards the stage inside.
Someone was singing a song that she knew really well, and that voice so deep and wonderful playing on the tune of "Someone like you" bringed her back old memories.
Curious to see the face that hid behind that soft voice, she made space among the screaming girls, until she reached the stage.
