In a dark and empty room

In a place that no one knows

A girl sits in her tears

Is there anyone who hears?

She's only ten years old

With parents that always fight

And when her dad gets violent

There's no one around to stop it

So she sits in her closet

She hides each day after school

She whimpers in the dark

Each day there's more cracks in her heart

But her true Daddy knows her

Her true Father loves her

He sees the bruises she's had

From her abusive dad

He joins her in the dark

He sits down next to her

He purts His arm around her shoulder

And pulls her in closer

He yearns to share His healing

And His endless love for her

She asks Him show He is

And what He has to give

She listens with interest

And when He's done she's silent

Then she breaks down and cries

And looks Him in the eyes

She says,

"Will you be my new Daddy?

One who won't hurt me?

I love my other dad

But he hits me when he's mad!

"Please promise you won't leave

And that you'll protect me

I love you my Daddy

I love you my Daddy."

So together they sit

Hand in hand in her room

She has someone who hears

And who dry's her tears
