Evangeline

I finish my broadcast, it's been forever since I've been on television, and I've gotten questions from other nobles, I answered the best I could, but I don't know where Cal is. Yes, I hate him, but it's hard to hate him when he gave me this adorable child I'm holding in my arms. She's been asleep for the past hour, she's adorable, even my heart melts when I see her yawn in her sleep. So peaceful and innocent.

I swaddle her in my arms, rocking her back and forth as she dreams peacefully. I hum a lullaby to her as she drools on my dress that isn't made of metal, made of clothing for once. I would be bedridden for weeks because of how quickly I gave birth, but healers fixed me up, fixed Coriane up too, nothing was to terrible, but she's safe now, that's all that really matters.

Silvers walk out of the balcony one by one, I stay up against the wall, cradling her as she sleeps as she sucks on her fingers and drools.

"Evangeline," I hear my name called, I look up and see a familiar face.

"Father," I haven't seen him in months.   Not since Maven kicked me out because of my pregnancy, then now he let me back in.  The Silvers are changing, Cal is a dick, Maven is getting warmer, back to his old self, Mare is well, Mare.

He walks up to me, looking at me in awe.  "Your-," he stutters, I chuckle lightly.  "A mom?" I ask for him, he nods and puts his hands in his pockets.

"What's been going on here since I left?"

"You mean kicked out?" He leans to the side, I exhale sharply.  "Yes, Father, kicked out." I close my eyes.

"Well, I have seen some newblood movement," Father states, leaving the topic.

"Oh?"

"It's in Tuck, that's where Diana Farley is, she's recruited someone important," he talks with no emotion.

"Who's that?" I ask.

"Her name is Gwendolyn,"

"How is she important," I raise my eyebrows, still rocking Coriane back and forth.

"She's like the lightning girl, she can create ice and snow, she's a red-newblood mix," he states facts.

"Have you told Maven about this?"

"No," I expected that answer, he's power-hungry, he never tells Maven anything. "I plan on closing in with other members soon."

"You should check this out with Maven, things are going to change once Mare becomes Queen," I continue to swaddle Coriane.

"Yeah, they will," he crosses his arms. "It should be you rising to power, not the ratty red."

"You know that will never happen now," I look down at Coriane, still sucking on her fingers, dreaming of happy thoughts.

He stays silent, looking at his granddaughter, just staring.

"Well, we are doing this, Evangeline," he says before walking away.  He didn't even want to meet her.

I stand there, holding my sleeping daughter.  I see now how father made me a metallic monster.  I won't have the same for her, I want to change things for her.  I will change.

Mare

We walk out of the now messy guest bedroom in giggles.  We had a pillow fight like we were little children.  Our clothes are now wrinkled and my hair is no longer in a loose braid, now it looks like a rhino trampled it.  Maven's face is covered in a silver flame of blush, I can only assume mine is the same.

"That was fun," Maven adjusts the crown on his messy, oily black locks.  I laugh, I can't help but feel happy that Maven is acting like himself again, but he's also not himself, he's better than that, he is comforting, happy, romantic when he wants to be, and he's still bossy and dominating all the same.

"A fun pillow fight," I say as I shut the white door.

"It was more than a pillow fight Mare, you know that," I turn my head to see him, he winks, I playfully shove him.  He holds up his hands once he regains balance, saying he's innocent.  I give him a quick dark smile.

"You were fighting for something else, we both know that," I say.  He raises his eyebrows.

"Did I win?" he asks with puppy eyes.

"Maybe," I chuckle.  He continues to give me huge puppy eyes that are adorable.  "Fine, you win."

"I know I did," he leans against the wall.  I turn away, making sure my messy hair flies with a neck spin.  I can hear his footsteps behind me increase, I start to walk faster, but this time he catches me.

He wraps his arms around my waist and picks me up from my stomach, putting my back on his shoulder as he carries me like a sack of potatoes.  He moves me to his other shoulder, making my face be smashed into his toned back.

"Not letting you run away this time, love," he says as he walks down the halls.  I playfully smack his back.  "Put me down."

He chuckles as a response, the chuckle meaning no. He continues to carry me until he stops dead. His chuckle goes silent. I squirm out of his grasp and stumble to my feet and turn to see what Maven is looking at.

I see why he's mad. At the end of the Hall, wandering around with out a head, is Tiberius Calore the 7th.
