Chapter 15: Exciting.

"Here's my assignment, Miss Kaori." I say, handing her a flash drive.

"Good job, Valarie. You're actually the first one to turn it in." She says, a proud smile covering her face.

"That's good to hear." I tell her before I walk to my seat.

"Hey." Imogene says as she sits beside me.

"Hey." I say, surprised to see her here. "Are you in this class?" I ask her.

"Mhm." She hums, nodding her head.

"You missed the fashion show. It was great. Tobias did such an amazing job." I tell her.
"Why couldn't you make it?" I ask her.

"This." She says, holding up a stack of stapled papers.

"Stayed up all night doing the assignment, huh?" I ask her.

She nods in response.

"Alright everyone, turn your textbooks to page eighty four. Valarie, would you do us the honor?" She asks, staring at me.

I stare back at her in confusion.

"She wants you to read." Imogene whispers in my ear.

"Oh." I say in realization. I grab my textbook, flip to page eighty four and then I start reading.

"We're so boring. Let's take a road trip." Riley suggests.

"Jesus, Riley. We almost died yesterday and you want to go out again." I say, staring at her in annoyance.

"We almost died, but we didn't though." She counters.

"I can't with the two of you. I gotta go." Tobias says, standing up from the table.

"Where are you going?" I ask him.

"Imogene needs me." He tells me.

"You or your dick?" Riley asks and I put a hand on my forehead.

This girl.

"Me." He says, sternly. "And my dick." He mumbles under his breath.

"You guys are incorrigible." I say, shaking my head.

"I'll see you guys in a week or two." He tells us.

"Is that how long it takes for you to cum?" Riley asks him and I gasp.

"Okay, you've said enough." I say, covering her mouth with my palm.

"Bye, Tobe." I wave at him as he walks away from our table.

"What is your problem?" I ask Riley as I remove my palm from her mouth and smack her arm.

"Heartbreak." She says, looking at me with sad eyes.

"Still hurts?" I ask her, rubbing circles around her back with my palm.

"Yup. It's only been three days." She tells me.

"Maybe you need to take a break. From school. From everything." I tell her.

"That's why I want to go on a road trip." She tells me.

"How about we go to a ski resort during Christmas break?" I suggest.
"How does that sound?" I ask her.

"That'll be great." She says, a huge grin plastered on her face.

"That means I'll have to work more hours at the school library to save up, but it's going to be so worth it." She tells me.

"Save up? Can't have you doing that. I got this. I'll take care of everything. Your job is to enjoy yourself to the fullest." I tell her and she squeals before she pulls me into a warm embrace.
