"morning" pansy smiles, blissfully unaware of the conversation we were just having. she starts rambling on about her divination assignment, how she was up all night finishing it. theo watches her intently, listening to every word and offering advice periodically, as draco grumbles under his breath, complaining about his own homework

"you still didn't finish astronomy?" theo looks over at him, lowering his brow

draco shakes his head, "got a bit distracted" theo looks over at me for a second, seeing dracos smirk before chuckling a little and going back to his food

"hello?" i say to no one in particular, walking into the empty room. i see the vanishing cabinet still covered by the large tapestry draco found- his journals neatly stacked among the other artifacts in the room. i look around for a moment longer, and then notice him curled up, a notebook in hand and his head laying limply to the side, tucked into the corner of the armchair

i walk towards him quietly, grabbing a blanket out of a pile we've made on my way over. i place it over him gently and he doesn't stir, just his eyelids fluttering slightly as he lets out a soft breath. over the past week, he's been spending more and more time in here, working on the cabinet. he hasn't gotten any closer to fixing it. i take a seat on the ground in front of the chair, leaning my head back against it as i pull my homework out of my bag.

i get through my muggle studies questions and start on my transfiguration essay when i hear shuffling behind me. draco yawns loudly and i look back, seeing him rubbing his eyes before nestling back into the chair. i shut my book softly and turn to the side, placing my hand over his. his eyes fall open, landing on my face. he smiles a little.

"what time is it?" his voice is deep, rough from just waking up

"11" i reply, "theo said you didn't come back to the dorm last night- and you weren't in charms this morning" i rest my chin on the cushion of the chair, "we were worried about you"

he yawns again, adjusting to sit up, "must've fallen asleep working" he clears his throat, lifting the journal still lying in his lap, "flitwick pissed i didn't show?"

"theo covered for you- said you'd gotten sick all over the dormitory" draco nods, moving to the edge of the chair and holding out his arms.i laugh under my breath, standing up and taking a seat on the chair with him, partially on his lap and part of me on the space he made for me. his arms wrap around me tightly as he rests his head on my shoulder

"this cabinet's going to be the death of me" he mumbles

i swallow nervously, my eyes focused forward on it's looming shape in the distance.

"my idea for you to run away still stands" i whisper, leaning my head to the side so that it rests against his. he chuckles half-heartedly, wrapping his arms further around my waist

"is the quidditch match tonight?" he asks

"yeah"

"find a seeker?"

"harper's going to take it on"

"good for him"

"yeah"

"... you alright?"

"hm?" i look back at him, his chin now lifting off of my shoulder. i fall to the side of his lap, swinging my legs up over his and leaning against the arm of the chair, one of his arms still around my waist
