i walk down to the common room after dinner that weekend on a mission: get draco to tell me if they're on to the army. at this point, i think it's the only way to prove my loyalty to the DA and honestly, i'm curious myself. i know our other friends are in the library, studying for an exam we've got monday, so hopefully i'll be able to catch him alone. i walk through the stone wall quickly, taking a deep breath before turning the corner into the common area. but i don't make it to the turn before i hear hushed voices coming from around it, and slow my walk. i creep up toward the corner, and soon my ears recognize it as draco's voice.

"no, no absolutely not-" i hear him continue in a hushed tone. i take a deep breath, and, unable to fight my curiosity, turn around the corner.

i notice draco's the only one in the room.

he's just jumped back from the fire, holding his hands behind his back and staring at me.

"who were you talking to?" i say, tilting my head at him. his cheeks flush slightly and he fixes his hair

"what do you mean?" he clears his throat

"just now, you were talking to someone"

draco shakes his head, "i'm the only one in here, y/n" i look around behind him, he's right. it's just him and i. no one could have gotten away that quickly.... but i swear i heard...

"you're hearing things" draco smirks, walking over to me, "i'm going to have to have you committed to st. mungos"

i laugh a little, still confused by the whole situation. i peer around his shoulder again, scanning the room, and then staring at the flames of the fire slowly dying down. but i don't have much time to question it before draco's standing right in front of me, his hands reaching down to intertwine with mine

"so...." he draws out the word, looking down me, "since we are alone" i look back into his eyes, no longer thinking about what i overheard. he raises his eyebrows, his smirk widening as my lips begin to form a small smile. in a second, his hands are on the sides of my neck, his thumb slowly tracing my jawline as he brings my lips up to his. i wrap my arms around his shoulders, pulling him towards me as we kiss, him slowly leading me backwards until i'm pressed up against the wall. my mind has completely forgotten the mission i was supposed to be on, so intoxicated by his presence. one hand races down my body, grabbing around my waist and pulling me against him, while his other rest on the wall beside my head. his lips trail away from mine, leaving kissing down my cheek, across my jaw, onto my neck-

and then the familiar scratch of stones swirling open comes from beside us. we hardly hear it, being so distracted by other things. my eyes are closed, focus on the feeling of draco's lips pressed against my skin, when i notice the noise. i eyes snap open, and i look over, seeing the door to the common room opening.

"draco" i say quietly. he hums in response, not looking up until i kick his leg lightly. his mouth leaves my neck, and his head lifts to look over towards the door, where daphne and goyle are walking in from. draco groans loudly, his fist hitting the wall next to me. he glares slightly towards the doorway, hanging his head to fall beside my ear as he mutters, "fucking hell" sending a shiver down my spine

"sorry to interrupt" i hear daphne chuckle, and my cheeks begin to heat up in embarrassment

"would it kill you to knock?" draco swings his head toward the door, leaning away from me slightly

"it's the common room, mate" goyle laughs, "go to the dorm if you want privacy"

"we share a room!" draco's hand drops from my waist as he sighs in exasperation, looking over at goyle
