Chapter 4

Corpse's POV

"How about we get to know each other a little bit? Wanna play 20 questions?" I ask her and she returns a confused look. "How do you play?" Lexi asks. "Well you just ask a bunch of random questions..that's about it." I let out a chuckle. "Okay let's play!" She says excitedly.

"When's your birthday?" I ask her. "Ummm..June 23, 2016. When's yours?" She asks. Her birthday is coming up in about two months. I make a quick mental note. It is the 17th of April today. "Mine is August 8, 1997." She smiles at me.

"My turn to ask a question," she does something with her eyebrows causing them to wiggle and I can't help but burst out laughing. The room soon fills with her giggles. "What's your favorite color?" She asks. "Black." I tell her. "Pinkkkkk." She giggles.

"What's your favorite animal?" I ask. "Bunnies. Mr.Rabbit can agree." "I like all animals." I tell her. "What do you do for a job?" She asks me. "I run a YouTube channel and write music. And you don't have a job so where do you go to school?" "I go to Sunny Bees Preschool. It's my last year there! I start kindergarten next year!"

She seems very enthusiastic about school so that is a good thing. Throughout the game I learn that she has some friends at her preschool, She loves to draw, dance and play a few games on a tablet. I also learned that she'd love to learn to paint, likes being outside, loves the rain but not thunder storms, likes to watch all Disney movies, she loves cartoons, her favorite insect is a butterfly and many other things. Let's just say we asked way more than 20 questions.

I look at the clock and it reads 8:21. "Hey little one it's getting late. How about I run a bath for you. Does that sound good?" She nods and I take her to the bathroom.

Once the bathtub is filled half way with water and bubbles I help her into the tub. I can't help but smile at her. I could get used to having this little one around. I help her wash her hair. "Lexi close your eyes so you don't get soap in them." I tell her as I rinse her hair.

Throughout the bath I noticed a few scars and bruises on her but I'm not going to ask her yet. Once she's done and 'wrinkly like a raisin' I help her out and wrap her in a towel.

"Ummm wait here." I tell her and run to my room to grab an old T-shirt. I put it on her and it touches the floor. I chuckle and she giggles. Her giggle is so cute. I help her finish getting ready for bed.

"You're going to stay in my room with me tonight until I can get you a room set up okay?" I don't have enough money right now to set a room up for her. I'm barely getting by. I can only get her some essential things like clothes and some things for school.

She nods tiredly, clinging to me. I lay down with her on my chest and she's already asleep. I can't blame her, she's had a long day. I decide to text the group

Corpse: hey guys sorry I won't be able to play tonight.

Sean: NOOOOOOOOO WHO WILL BE MY LIGHT BUDDY?!

Felix: no one has been wanting to take the tenth spot today lol

Sykkuno: THATS BECAUSE NO ONE CAN REPLACE CORPSE 😤❤️

Rae: Sykkuno quit simping

Sykkuno: I'm not..

Corpse: yes you are 😂

Sykkuno: oops..🥴

Corpse: well as I said I won't be able to play, I got a little busy today. Idk if I'll be on tomorrow either.

Poki: is everything okay Corpse?

Leslie: yea are you okay??

Corpse: yeah I'm fine just something important came up. Well I have to go I'll talk to you all later. Goodnight ✌️

I put my phone on the night stand and plug it it. Wrapping my arms protectively around the small child on top of me the same thought comes to my head. I could really get used to this.
