The arrival of the prince did turned my house upside down. My mother was so happy to see the prince here at our house. After a brief greeting from her, she left me alone with the prince.

I didn't know how to act around the prince. All he did just sat there with his leg crossed on another and sipped the tea silently. No words. He had been sipping those tea since the start. Does he really like the tea?

I felt like choked to death with the awkwardness in the room. We just sat without making any noise for half an hour now. I was irritated at his behaviour but I couldn't spell it out since he is the prince.

"Your Highness, forgive my rudeness. I doubt you are here just for tea." I couldn't stand the atmosphere any longer that lead me to start the conversation first.

Hearing that he put down the teacup and staring at me. His stare make me feel uncomfortable and I started to fidgeting on my seat.

"Tell me why you agreed to get engage with me?"

He bluntly asked me about my intention behind the engagement. My lips twitched a little. I knew his highness is a blunt person but I never thought he would be this blunt. But, it's good for me though. It just save me a trouble to be straightforward at him. With that, I put my most polite smile and the prince frowned looking at it.

"I like to make a deal with you, your Highness"

"Oh" he crooked a smile. Not a real smile but a smirk like smile like I got his interest. He just gestured for me to continue with his hands. I balled my fist and calmed my nerves.

"I want to offer you the support of House of Langston. I know to safely secured the throne you need strong supporters. And I offered you, our support." He just placed finger under his chin thinking about my offer. It really seemed he thinking hard at my offer.

"With our support, you will gain both military and house power in your hands." I calmly spoke to him. Duke of Forest is known for the strong knights. Among the houses in the kingdom, we are the strongest. By offering this to the prince, it will eliminate the chance of Duke of Forest as a threat for him in the future. It also beneficial for him as Duke of Forest also high official in the court. To have Duke of on his side means a lot of officials will side and follow him.

"Moreover, with me as your fiancée, the pestering ladies will stop latching at you. You will be more than happy for that." Prince Noah was known as cold handsome prince. He never spared a glance for the ladies at any occasions. He despised them to be truth. I knew this side of him from the novel. He thought the ladies as annoying beings and never had any intention to interact with them.

As I keep talking, I never realised he had placed his hands on the table and leaned forward. He had a serious expression on his face which get me to stop talking any further.

"What do you want in return?" he asked me. I took a deep breath before answering him.

"The safety of my family. That's all I ask." I sincerely requested that from him. Without my knowing, I clasped my hands tightly and closed my eyes multiple times waiting for his reply. Will he agree?

Silence was the only thing could be heard in the room. Neither I or him spoke. The prince just lightly tapping his fingers on the table while crossing his legs. I just sat and waiting nervously in front of him.

When his fingers stopped tapping, I straightened my back and ready to listen to his reply.

"Your offer indeed a tempting one. I never think such a deal will come out from you. To answer your deal, I would say I agree to it and I swear to the honour of my family, your family will be safe in mine." He uttered to me while looking directly at my eyes. Those ocean eyes showed sincerity.

I released a relief breath that I been holding for no one know how long. I smiled genuinely at him. I remembered what I was about to tell him before as I stopped when saw the seriousness on his face earlier.

"This deal will be broken when you found the right person to be your fiancee. Your true fiancee." I told him the deal will be last until he found his another half which is the heroine. I knew I will temporarily be his fiancee so I assured him about it.

"What do you mean?" He seemed puzzled by my words. I confused at his action. Did he not understand me?

"What I mean is this engagement will be broken when you found your love. And I will the one to step down from it. I really hope my family's safety will be secured even the engagement fall apart. No harm shall fall onto them, not even one."

I showed my determination in my words and the prince just blankly staring at me. After a while, his eyes regain its focus and he coughed a little.

"Very well then, Lady Ava. I should not hold you any longer now. I will take my leave." As he finished his words, he stood up and walked towards the door. I followed him from behind and showed him the way out.

My family could be seen seeing the prince out. Smiling was the only thing on their faces. I just ignored the questioning looks from my family and walked towards my room.

As soon as my butt hit the soft bed, I let out a loud sigh. I succeed. I managed to make a deal with the prince. It was such a nerve-wracking moment. I barely managed to talk to him without showing my nervousness.

I laid weakly on my bed while thinking about my future. Nothing bad will happen after this right? The prince promised to keep my family safe. All I have to do is to act as his proper fiancee in public. I will never interfere in his life. I have to make sure my act in the future never cross the boundaries. I should never get to his bad side. I will be doomed if I get on his bed side. I should be super careful in the future.
