History Repeating - 3

"I can believe I fell for it" Caroline exclaims, scolding herself. "Are you okay?" Elena asks Bonnie as we follow her into the hall

"I have to go" She replies. "She's leaving, I'm leaving" Caroline says. "You guys can't leave" Elena says almost scolding.

"Oh, I can. I've had enough freaky fake witch stuff for one night" Caroline tells us both. "Thank you for having me" Bonnie says making us turn to her. Okay, why the hell is she speaking like that?

She turns and walks down the stairs, walking with her arms clasped in front of her. "Where are you going?" I ask. "Back to where it all began" Bonnie replies before descending the stairs.

"Bonnie. Bonnie" Elena calls out but Bonnie ignores. "Oh my god" I breath realizing what's really Happening. Bonnie said that her nightmares were about Emily, that she took her to the place were it all began.

"Emily!" I call out, this time she responds to her name. "I won't let him have it. It must be destroyed" She says looking back at us before going to the door.

Elena and I rush down the stairs to stop her. "Wait!" We call out, but she's out the door and closes it behind her. I grab at the handle and try to pull it open but it won't budge.

"What's happening?" Caroline asks as she joins us. "I don't know" I say with a grunt. The door, it's not-" I'm cut off when the door opens from the outside and a figure steps in.

We back away and shriek. Then I realize it's Jeremy, the moon light hits his face. He stares at us in disbelief before going inside. "I'm out of here!" Caroline says in panic as she goes though the door.

Not knowing what to do I pull my phone out and dial Stefan, I grab Elena and pull her away, out onto the porch so Jermey doesn't hear. "What's wrong?" Stefan asks when he picks up, I hold the phone out and put him on speaker.

"It's Bonnie" Elena says into the phone. "What happened?" He ask.

"Emily is possessing her. She said something" I say.

"What did she say?" Elena speaks now.

"She said 'I won't let him have it. It must be destroyed' and then she just left" Elena explains.

"Okay, where do you think she went?" I take over now. "I don't know" I say bitting my lip, remembering what she said I speak again in realization.

"Fells church. By the old cemetery. That's where she took Bonnie in her dreams. We have to help her Stefan" I say, running a hand through my hair.

"Alright, alright. Both of you stay there, I'm gonna go find her"

Despite Stefans order me and Elena got in my car and drove to fells church. When we got there we ran in the woods to the source of light coming from it.

Getting closer I see it's fire and Bonnie is standing right in it. "Bonnie!" Elena yells letting our presence be known.

Stefan grabs for her but I dance out of his grasp and approach the circle of fire. Bonnie or Emily throws the amulet in the air as Damon screams no.

The amulet bursts in explosion and I cover my face to protect myself from the sparks of fire that fly around.

Damon looks at Bonnie with rage. For a second a see another women standing in Bonnies place, Emily.

Bonnie looks down and the fire dies out. When she opens her eyes she looks at the charring earth around her in confusion. Damon reacts fast and before I can stop him he lurches himself at Bonnie.

"Damon!" I scream as he pierces her neck with his fangs and she screams. Stefan throws Damon off him and the second he does I place myself in front of Damon. A hand out stretched in warning.

This time I came prepared, I hold my flask of vervain in my hand, ready to throw it at him if he tries for Bonnie again. I mean, it probably won't work but I have to try something.

I keep my hand stretched out but whirl my head to Bonnie. Stefan crouch's in front of her. "She's alive, but barely. I can save her" He says bitting his wrist.

Elena whirls to Damon and then back at Bonnie. Stefan lifts her head up and brings his wrist to her mouth, forcing her to drink.

Bonnie stirs and struggles against him, groaning in pain. Stefan pulls away and Bonnie gasps for breath. "Her neck. It's healing" Elena says, her voice quavering at the sight. I turn to Damon, his eyes almost look apologetic.

"I don't understand Elena, Ariel. He attacked me, and...his face was like..." Bonnie says cutting her self off. Her face was scared with tears and her eyes full of fear. "How do you feel? Are you okay?" I ask, worried for my friend.

"I'm fine. It's- It's just this blood. I don't...." Bonnie stops her self, looking forward in fear. I turn to see Stefan walking to us. "I'm not gonna hurt you" He says.

Bonnie looks at me and Elena with fear. "What's going on?"

"We'll explain everything, Bonnie, ok?" Elena says "Let's just get out of here" Bonnie looks back at Stefan and freezes.

"Bonnie. Bonnie, look at me. Trust me, He's not gonna hurt you" I say softly. "Come on" Elena says wrapping an arm around her and leading her to the car.

I turn to Stefan and bite my lip. "Is she in danger of becoming-" He cuts me off, knowing what I'm about to say. "No, she has to die with my blood in her system. So keep an eye on her tonight and make sure nothing happens, and once it leaves her system she'll be fine" I nod.

"I'm gonna tell her the truth" Elena says from behind me. Stefan nods slightly. "You sure?" I look back at Bonnie, sitting in the back of the truck. I nod and turn to Stefan.

"We can trust her" Elena walks up to him. "You saved her life. I'm sorry Stefan I thought that I couldn't be with you but I can. You don't have to push me away. I can do this" She said with a small smile.

Stefan shakes his head, "I can't" He said making Elenas lip quiver. "I have to leave, Elena, Ariel. To many people have died. To much has happened"

"What? No" I say in protest. Elena looks him dead in the eye. "I know you think your protecting me but-"

"No" Stefan cuts her off. "Coming home was-it was a mistake. I can't be a part of either of your life's anymore" He says softly. I feel a pang of sadness, "Don't go Stefan" Elena pleads.

"You don't have to. This is your home. You just- please don't go" She begs with a sniff. Stefan grabs her hand giving it a light kiss on the top. He creases her face as she forces back tears. "Good bye Elena" He says before turning to me.

"Good bye mermaid" I wanna snarl at him for using Damon's nickname for me but all I can do is force back a sob as he turns and walks away.

"Your really just gonna walk away?" Elena asks after him. "Don't walk away Stefan" She barks. But he does. "Stefan!" She falls out once more but it doesn't work.

Elena sobs quietly and I wrap my arms around her and she cries. I cry as well, masking my sobs with hers.
