im sorry for the string of more sad/angsty chapters lately. i've not been doing too hot recently and i don't want to try to write something that i can't feel as i'm afraid it would just make everything worse. i'm working on it so hopefully the more happy/fluffy chapters will be back up soon! thank you so much for 33k reads, you guys are the best and i hope you have a wonderful day. much love <3

everyone always said that your senior year of high school was supposed to be the best year, but that wasn't the case for you. all of the pent up emotions and thoughts you had repressed for years had come out during the course of the school year, but you tried your best not to show it.

schlatt had been your best friend since he's moved to new york freshman year, and the two of you stayed by each other's sides almost all the time. he had a feeling that something was wrong, but never pressured you to talk about it because he didn't want to hurt you.

tonight, your parents were out on vacation for their anniversary, so you were completely home alone. the house being so quiet and empty only fueled your depressive state.

you were laid in bed, tears gliding down your red and splotchy face. slow melancholy music could be heard playing softly on the television in your room. you wiped the tears blurring your vision from your eyes and unlocked your phone to see the time: 2:05 a. m.

jesus, i thought it was only eleven!

a sigh escaped your lips as you propped your back up against your headboard. you looked around your dark room, the only light emanating from your television and a small window with a bit of moonlight shining in. one look at your depressing surroundings unleashed another round of tears, this one being worse than the previous ones.

small sobs cracked out of you as you breathed heavily.

i can't be alone right now.

you thought for a moment before grabbing your phone off the nightstand beside of you and unlocking it, tapping onto a very
familiar contact and shakily sending a text.

   hey are you busy rn?

you closed your eyes as you awaited a response. more tears escaped your puffy eyes as you let out a small sniffle. just then, your phone dinged.

you let out a sigh of relief as you typed out a response.

can you ft? i just need someone to talk to

you waited for schlatt's response as you picked at your nails for a few moments, before your phone started vibrating.

after pointing your camera towards the ceiling, you accepted the call. after it connected, you were met with a smiling schlatt who was sat at his computer, as he normally was when you all weren't together.

"what's up?" he asked as he clicked around a bit on his pc.

"i, uh- i just needed someone to talk to," you stuttered, your voice a bit nasally from your congestion.

schlatt looked at his phone intently. "are you alright?" he asked, not going back to whatever he was doing before, instead staying in the same position while awaiting your response.

you let out a small sigh.

what do i tell him? on one hand, i really need to talk about all my feelings, but on the other, i don't want to be a burden.
