Jungkook's POV,

I settled into the driver's seat of the car, preparing to embark on the drive to Ilsan, but an unexpected surge of guilt washed over me. The thought of leaving her behind gnawed at my conscience, despite my initial reluctance to have her accompany me.

It wasn't that I harbored any ill will towards her, but rather my reservations stemmed from a genuine concern for her safety. The idea of exposing a girl to the potential dangers that awaited us weighed heavily on my mind.

In truth, if we embarked on this mission together, we'd inevitably find ourselves in each other's company for at least two weeks—unless, by some stroke of luck, we managed to avoid capture.

The realization that she would be my partner for the foreseeable future drew a deep groan from within me, mixed with a blend of irritation and frustration. Running my fingers through my dark hair, I released a heavy sigh, starting the car engine. Just then, I caught sight of her stepping out of the company building.

She appeared petite and fragile, a stark contrast to the dangers that awaited us. The thought of her joining me on this mission filled me with worries, fearing that she would only end up hurting herself.

As she drew closer to my car, a mischievous impulse seized me, and I couldn't resist the urge to tease her. With a quick honk, I startled her, causing her to jump slightly in surprise.

Rolling down the window, I leaned over with a playful grin on my lips. "Hey there, what's the rush?"

Her response carried a hint of defensiveness, her tone clipped. "What do you want?" She rolled her eyes, avoiding my gaze.

Her guarded demeanor piqued my curiosity, leaving me wondering what thoughts were swirling in her mind. But for now, I pushed aside my curiosity and got straight to the point. "Where are you heading?"

"Obviously, Ilsan," she replied curtly, her expression carefully neutral. Yet, beneath the surface, I could sense her annoyance, mirroring my own feelings about the situation. At least we shared a mutual sentiment.

Unlocking the car door and gesturing for her to join me, I extended an invitation that felt oddly awkward. "Well, what a coincidence. I'm headed there too," I remarked, the sarcasm evident in my tone.

A flicker of hesitation danced in her eyes, her internal struggle palpable in her stance. "So?" she responded defensively.

With a faint smile, I nodded towards the open door. "Just get in. Looks like we're in this together," I said, though she remained rooted beside the car, showing no signs of wanting to move.

Tilting my head playfully, I added a touch of jest to my words. "Or would you prefer me to open the door for you and lift you in?" I joked.

Her pause hung in the air, the silence speaking volumes. Eventually, a mock exasperation tinged her tone as she relented, "Fine, fine!" Rolling her eyes, she opened the door and climbed in.
