Sometimes unbeknownst to us
Our hearts are tread upon
By people with brightest souls
And lightest footfalls
They make us work hard
To keep their memories carved
Where it isn't even possible
To make a tiny mark
They leave in us a strange emotion
Our body in reckless commotion
Filled with a feeling of senseless devotion
Waiting for a touch of their affection
They whisper in our ears
A sweet lullaby
Making us reminisce the years
When life just passed us by
In all those moments of unspoken highs
And in all those moments of sobbing eyes
Happiness and pain both see a change
Where one gets less and other increases
It is for those people then we start to live
And stop counting each breath that we take
It makes us insane and difficult to forgive
Ourselves for thinking of leaving even before they came.

Withering petals of my hurting heart
