Y/n POV

"Okay, your turn," I said

It was a long day of looking for possible survivors and trying to figure out a way to get home. Unfortunately, we succeeded in neither of those. It's been about a month since we got stuck in this wasteland.

We were sitting on the bed in an old apartment we had found the previous week and were talking. I think this place is our home now. I mean, it's in pretty good condition considering what it went through.

"When did you start getting a crush on me?" he said hesitantly.

"Oh, so we're getting into that now?" I said while smirking at the blush sitting across his cheeks.

"Shut up!" he said.

I chuckled.

"To be honest, I don't really think I can pinpoint what year it happened. It just slowly happened over time."

He opened his mouth to say something, but I cut him off.

"But! If I had to pick an age, probably when we were around the age of seven or eight."

"Really? Wow, I thought you hated me when we were younger. I mean, we didn't really start getting close until were like nine, which is when it happened for me." he said

"Yeah, that's why we got close. Because I had a crush on you, and I started to hang out with you more to make you fall for me."

He laughed. "Well, it worked."

"Okay, your turn now," he said while looking up at me.

His brown hair was wet with sweat from his forehead. Although it was quite disgusting, he still looked handsome. I started to match my breathing with his subconsciously. I can't believe everything that's happened. It all seemed like a strange dream I was having. And I'm just about to wake up. But I haven't yet, so I guess I should keep playing this out until something happens.

"What is something you've never told anyone. Not Pogo. Not me. Nobody." I asked.

I saw him bring his head down and fix his hair. I sign that he was either nervous or seriously thinking hard about something. Or both. He lifted his head to stare up at the hole above our bed. The one thing I definitely liked about this place was the hole above our bed. It was about the size of a large dining room table, and it perfectly rested above our bed so that way we could stare up at the stars before we went to sleep.

"Don't laugh," he said

I lifted one eyebrow and giggled slightly.

"I haven't even said what it was yet, and you're already laughing." He said with an annoyed tone.

I reached out and grabbed his hand.

"I'm sorry okay? You can continue."

He opened his mouth again, but I cut him off.

"Okay, I'm really sorry about this, but I'm kind of hungry, and I just realized we've only eaten just slightly today. So can I grab a can of peaches? We can share so we aren't burning through our food."

He looked over to our food area. There was quite a lot of food there. Probably enough to last us a year.

He smiled.

"Yeah, sure," he said

I got up, but before I could walk over, he grabbed my upper arm and pulled me down to kiss him. But I pulled away as soon as our lips met.

"What was that for?" I asked worriedly.

"Am I not allowed to kiss my girlfriend? I just realized I hadn't kissed you today."

"Are you dying?" I asked while lifting his shirt to check for any injuries

He laughed at this.

"Trying to undress me? I thought you wanted to wait?" he said through a smirk.

I slapped his shoulder and walked over to the pile of food to grab a can of peaches. I walked into what was probably a kitchen and grabbed a fork we had found the previous day. I walked back into our bedroom and opened the can while sitting down on the bed.

"Okay, so back to your story," I said while taking a bite off a peach.

"So remember how when we were younger, we were only allowed one present out of the whole year?"

I nodded.

"So, when I was about ten years old. I had asked dad for a tiny bottle of cologne. I had put some on me that day and hung out with you as much as possible. But you seemed to keep being pulled away from me by Diego. That day I was working up the courage to ask you to be my like 'girlfriend.' Obviously, we were young, so girlfriend isn't really what you would call it, but whatever. But you seemed to be super interested in Diego. And I gave up."

I leaned over and lay my head in his lap, giving him the can of peaches. He took a bite.

"That night, I smashed that bottle into a million pieces against the wall over my bed. I was never able to get the smell out. Allison came in to comfort me. I think she had a crush on me back then before the whole Luther situation. So when she came into my room to comfort me, she was trying to convince me out of liking you. Thank god she didn't have great control over her powers back then."

I lifted my head and kissed his lips. They tasted like peaches.

"Funny. That day, I thought Diego was the one wearing the cologne, not you."

"Yeah, super funny," he said while taking another bite off of a peach.

I kissed him again, and I saw his face turn a slight shade of pink.

"Why do you keep kissing me?" he asked with a smile slowly spreading across his face.

"Oh, Am I nOt AlLoWeD tO kIsS mY bOyFrIeNd?" I said mockingly

He leaned down and kissed me this time.

I smiled and lifted my head from his lap.

"Okay. Your turn."
