Five's POV

Me and y/n were sitting beside each other in a comfortable silence, letting the afternoon fly by. We were underneath a tree that sat outside the village, staring off at the setting sun.

In these passed couple of months, I have grown to love y/n. I had thought about telling her, seeing as none of my siblings had come back, but I didn't want to ruin our friendship. And I certainly didn't want to overwhelm her with being queen.

I thought about waiting until my siblings had returned, but what if they didn't? I would be assigned someone to marry, and y/n would probably be sold off. Plus, she doesn't even know I'm the prince.

I was under so much pressure, and I think y/n could tell.

"Are you okay, Aidan? You haven't been watching the sun set with me. You seem...agitated."

I sighed and slapped my hands over my face, trying to get myself to think straight. Just hearing her voice was enough to make my heart race.

"I'm having trouble figuring out if I should tell the girl I'm in love, that I'm in love with her."

She turned on her side and rested her head in her hand, her elbow pressed against the grass.

"Just tell her." She said.

"It's not that simple!" I shouted, making y/n giggle.

"Of course it is. Once I get an opportunity, I'm gonna tell the boy I'm in love with, I love him."

My heart heart clenched in my chest, hearing that she was in love with someone.

"W-who?"

She giggled and fell back on her back, bending her arms and resting them behind her head.

"His name's Five, and he's an idiot for thinking I wouldn't find out he was the prince."

I shot up from the grass, staring down at the girl who was staring back at me, a smile on her face.

"When did you find out?!" I shouted.

She sat up and giggled again.

"Did you really think I wouldn't know what you look like? You stood out like a sore thumb when we first met. You were walking so formally."

I laughed and stared back at y/n who was also giggling along with me. A faint blush had dusted her cheeks as her skin glowed in the sunlight. At this point, only a little sliver of sun was left and she looked beautiful in it.

She caught me staring and lightly slapped my shoulder.

"Watch the sun you dummy! You're gonna miss it!"

She turned her head and stared off back into the horizon as the sun slowly disappeared behind the hills.

I knew I should've turned to look as she was doing, but all I could look at was her. The small breeze passing by, blessing me with the wonderful view of a wide smile on Y/n's face as she pointed out to the sun, waving and saying "Goodnight, beautiful! See you in the morning!"

I couldn't help but reach out and gently brush my fingers under her chin, turning her head to look at me as her e/c eyes stared back into mine. I slid my hand back to the nape of her neck and pulled her forward, softly connecting my lips with hers as my eyes closed.

She leaned into the kiss, taking in a small breath the moment we touched.

I felt like I could fly feeling like this. I feel like I could just grab her hand and take her to the clouds to dance, just the two of us; nobody else around.

She broke the kiss and gave me a closed-eyed smile, making my heart melt.

"So," She giggled. "Does this mean we're getting married?"
