Chapter9: Try not to get jealous

Start from the beginning

Before David could talk any further about the amazing pizza that I've been so lucky to eat. The smell of overuse perfume reached my nose, nearly choking me and my appetite, "Hey Jennifer,"

Stephanie greeted too sweetly which was creepy for me, just the other day I was getting under her skin and today she's all of a sudden nice to me. Something's up.
She was looking very different from the last time I saw her, wearing a butty shorts, black and white crap top with golden hoops and her blonde hair and hot red strips down in wavy curls.

Her little band of 'friends' surrounding her still looking the same as last time, but the quiet one who wears jeans and looks like she was almost forced to be in Stephanie's circle with them.

While there was a sweet, soft girl who was standing close to her, as if she was her shield of protection from someone which my gut tells me was Stephanie that's seen as harm towards her.

The girl was a chocolate brown haired with ivory skin while the one in jeans was a Native American with jet black hair who seems like someone who doesn't let anyone rub themselves on her wrong side unless they know what would come from it. And that's why I immediately liked her.

"Hello Stephanie," I greeted awkwardly since I wasn't sure why she was here nor did I care. I also notice that she was actually talking to me, instead of David.
The dude is watching Stephanie like a snake watching a prey, "Glad to see that you know my name-"

"I want in." Stephanie cut me off before crossing her arms while David's stare became if by any chance darker. In fact, his whole body became stiff and tense.

Trying to act normal, I turn to face Stephanie despite this weird feeling of putting my hand over his to ease off the intense. "Do you want to be in my friend group or in our conversation.....?"

"I'm talking about the bet, genius," Stephanie rolled her eyes at me which I could care less about since I was going to do it right back at her anytime soon. "I want to be part of it."

"The answer is no." David said with a blank face while there were green flames burning in his eyes. I only been at KAU for nearly a week and already I'm in the centre of attention, it's irritatingly like high school all over again.

I talk to one guy who is 'Mr Popular' over homework or studying notes for a pop quiz only to have 'Prom Queen' hating my guts. And want to claw me for stupid reasons that either her friends or herself has put into her head.
But what's happening right now, Stephanie wanting to be part of a bet that she was never part of in the first place, is very bizarre.

I mean, why would she even care what I was doing, like doesn't this girl have a life where she just worry about which shade of blush suits her better at all? "You're not getting into our bet, just because you feel left out."

Once David started talking to Stephanie, her whole appearance change completely like flapping a coin, on tails, she's snarling and biting my head off and then on heads,
"I don't feel left out, Silly. It's my party which is taking place at Kappa. I am the Head of Kappa anyways, it only makes sense that I should be part of the bet."

"You only became Head of Kappa this year, that doesn't make you a queen or something. And just because it's your party, doesn't mean that you have to be the centre of attention." David argued back with his voice slightly turning deeper and his accent becoming thicker in a way. This tells me that this guy was about to blow up on the girl who can't take a hint.

Thinking about the bet between me and David taking place at Stephanie's party, I can literally see how everything would play out where there won't any fun for neither of us. "But David-"

"What's your deal?" I shut Stephanie and David's argument down before either of them can say anything further, getting confused faces and narrowed eyes from Ryan and Charlotte. "Let's say that we let you're in on the bet, what's your deal?"
