"Kinda hard not to," Shanna sighed with a sad smile hanging on her lips. She and Benn brought their boxes over to the big cart Lucky Roux prepared pulled by a cow. "I've spent basically my whole life with him... It's different without him."

She had told her father and his close friends about what she did and who she was with before she met them. She left out a lot of details, so they only knew she had a fall out with the captain, and decided to leave.

"Well, we finally docked somewhere after all these weeks of traveling, you should go take a look around, buy some things you need, eat some good food and stuff!" Benn Beckman suggested. He tossed her a bag of coins. "We'll be here. If not, you can find us at one of the pubs in the area."

A soft smile made its way to her lips. "Thanks Benn," she said, knowing he was trying to make her feel better. She took the money and dashed off into town. "Time to do some shopping!"

Shanna trotted down the busy streets with her money in her pocket. The streets were filled with shops and pubs and stalls. The ground wasn't paved, so it was quite bumpy and muddy. What caught her attention, however, was how overpriced everything here was, from fruits to bread to souvenirs. Almost everything was a rip off! "Are you sure this costs 50 berries? For one?" Shanna asked a fruit stall owner as she pointed at an apple.

"Yes, are you gonna buy it or not?" the stall owner asked rather impatiently.

Oh no. Oh hell no! He did not just give her attitude! "Five for 50," Shanna said.

"What?! No! I can't do that!" the owner shouted.

"Apples normally cost 5 berries each at most! I'm already paying twice the price by offering you 50 for five of them!" Shanna shouted back. Apples normally cost 15 berries each at other islands, but Shanna wasn't going to let this man get any profit from her.

"Two fifty," the man shook his head.

"Then I'm leaving."

"W-Wait! Two hundred! I'll give you five for two hundred." Hmm, so he IS desperate for customers. Shanna smirked.

"Twenty five," she said.

"You said 50!"

"But now I think it's unfair that you charge more than other islands!" Shanna argued back. The two of them continued to bargain for a long time, and owner agreed to sell her 5 for 50. Feeling victorious, Shanna continued down the street to go to different stalls and started bargaining with every single person she met.

She ended up with a few bags full of fruits, bread, and clothes. Shanna was in an amazing mood, and felt extremely proud of herself for her bargain victories. It's weird though, she thought. The prices here are so high, but each place I went, it's as if they were desperate for customers....

Shanna walked down the street wondering what she should bargain for next. That was when she met him. "Oof!" She dropped the bags of food during the impact with the boy. She was steady on her feet, but the boy fell right onto his butt. "Sorry, are you o-" Her eyes widened at his dust and dirt covered face. Thirteen, or maybe younger. His long, messy, knot filled black hair reached his shoulders. He had cuts and bruises all over and was clearly malnourished. She reached a hand out to help him get up, but the boy immediately swatted her hand away.

Just as Shanna was suffering the shock of his rejection, the boy snatched on of her bags of food and made a run for it. "H-Hey!" It wasn't that she was mad at him for stealing her food. For some reason she couldn't help but chase after him. Just now, his cold grey eyes, for a second, reminded her of Law. She ignored her things that fell to the ground, and chased after the little boy. Her legs were much longer than his, and maybe it's because of how malnourished he was, he couldn't run really fast. She quickly caught up with him. "Hey! Hold it right there!" Shanna grabbed him by the shoulder, holding him down.
