Chapter 7 "mama's spy"

》Norman's POV《

I've been watching the spy from time to time and i think i have proven my point. My guts where right, it is him. Yesterdays incident was so embarrassing!  In front of Emma!! Really ray?! I sighed.

"Norman can i speak with you privately?" Ray i ask "Sure" i replied. We both went to the bedrooms and ray sat down on his bed "you've been observing me from time to time whats that all about?" He ask "Oh well so you do pay attention on it huh? Well correct me if I'm wrong but are you what I thought you were?" I ask "What do you mean? What are you talking about?" He ask "Your mom's spy aren't you?" I ask. He stayed quiet for a minute or two. "Heh... Heh.. Heh" he chuckled and lie down on the bed "dang and i thought i really had you going. thats right i am mom's spy" he replied.

"When did you suspect me?" He ask "The day sister krone came to the house. I was disgusted with myself for thinking such a thing. You were the first person i suspected. Even though your my friend. I just wish it wasn't true. It was my suppostition for the worst case. But for us, it would be the most problematic if you were the traitor and for the enemies point of view it would be the most beneficial that you're the traitor. You can give options to our plans and from the perspective of controlling the situation. Its perfect. No one else fit the job better" i replied "and thats why you suspected me? And thats how i walked into your trap huh?" He ask

"Darling your not a traitor who was set up just for this matter right?" I ask but he stayed quiet. I walk towards him and bend over to look at him in the eye "Mom would never trust a sudden tip or an impromptuit spy. How long have you been mom's spy?" I ask

"Ever since i got here. I've been mom's subordinate for 11 years" he replied "W-What?!" I was speechless i don't know what to say "basically a sheepdog for a shepherd" he said with an evil smile. How could he. "So you knew all along and you still helped mom?" I ask "Yup" he change. He never slip his mask off but now. Now i see it. "So was everything a lie? All the time spent preparing for things with me and emma?What and how much did you tell mom? The tracking device can be broken right?" I ask

"Whats the point in asking that? Depending on the answer will you cut me off?" He ask "I wont. I'll have you on my side as you've always been" i stand up straight and smiled "Aren't you glad darling? You can continue to hide the mistake you made. You wanted to keep spying on us even if it meant framing gilda right?" I ask "Tsk stop with the stupid names. What do you want?" He ask. I smiled and look at him in the eyes.

"Three things, one continue to spend time with us like before and guarantee our safety. Two release all the information you have to us and finally come to our side" i replied.

"Are you an idiot! If that was your objective from the beginning you should've kept quiet and used me. Just forcibly utilize me and then just abandon me when you execute the plan and for being your spy for mom? Hah pathetic" he said looking away "Your right but" i step forward pinning him down the bed "Your just too important to us Ray, just imagine the endless possibilities we can do" i smiled

"Get off me Norman". I did what he said and i back away. I sat down on the drawer and i look at his grey eyes. "You were the one who hid little bunny right? That night if you hadn't said 'we could till make it' we wouldn't have gone to the gates. You set things up so we could learn the houses secret on our own, how thoughtful of you and also you engineered this escape plan for our own sake didn't you? So then why are you acting as mom's lap dog?" I ask "why?" He ask

"If you truly were her lapdog you would never done anything to help us learn the truth. You were keeping us on a leash. With the transmitter thing and the timing of the escape you were keeping progress in check. That's why when i told you were going to escape in 10 days you were gainst it but at the same time you were in moms leash weren't you? You really aren't our enemy right?" I ask "I volunteered myself or well it'd be more accurate to say i offered my services" he smirk.

That night we talk about a lot of things. I learned that he's one of those children that won't forget what their childhood looks like and also he made a deal with mom whenever he did something worth it he'll make her deliver what he wanted but it won't be chemical nor hazard to the house or any poisonous stuff. He also made a deal with me which i won't tell for now. He also told me his conditions.

One is that i have to stop calling him names which I would still do. Two i have to trick Emma, i have to say that i agree on bringing everyone then just left them all behind when we leave its so cruel place but the he said 'I'll die right here when things get out of hand'

He's scary and so risky. What is he even up to..

I ended up having an awful dream about everything. I was running with the others then all of a sudden i stop and look behind me. And there i saw my siblings dead i saw ray on the group with the flower in his chest. I run towards him and hug him."RAY NO!" I shouted hoping he would hear me "Heh i told you" those words where the last thing i head from him.

But I'm glad it was just a dream i didn't lose him.

[The next day]

I woke up and said good morning to everyone as usual. I walk up to emma and patted her in the shoulder "Emma me and ray want to say something after breakfast" i said with guilt "Is it important?" She ask "Yes" i replied "Alright then" she smiled and arrange the plates.

After we ate breakfast the kids went outside to play and this is the best time to say it, we head over the walls and discussed about it

[at the forest]

"what happened with the rope? Did you find out who the spy is?" Emma ask "actually uhm" "oh that? It's me" ray said casually putting both of his hands into his pocket "Wha?-" "I'm the one who's been leaking infos" he added, Emma was confused and comes to a conclusion "IT WAS YOU?!... Oh uh sorry about that reaction I don't understand so can you please tell me-" before she could continue I cut her off "RI-Right let me explain" after I explained to her what happened she then began to peice things together "so Ray is mums spy but not our enemy, and the reason why he was helping mum the whole time was for our sake?" she ask "yeah the truth is I was planning on telling you as soon as you came back from the gate in fact" rat sighed and continued "but you left little bunny behind" oh crap.... He's right "and mention bringing everyone with us so I have no choice but to hold off. Then mum found out which ment I have to work around all that while also handing your reckless actions. I figured it was best to stay quiet and keep things under control" he said looking at us "so your saying that you were covering up for us mistakeand your still against escaping with everyone right?" she ask

"Bbut it's different now I'll help you escape with everyone" Ray replied "that's not like you" Emma said looking at him "Do you think he's lying?" i ask her "no, I'm Happy. Ray is now going to help everyone escape and we also have information to trick mom from the inside. It's awesome! But I see, you knew about everything from a long time huh? It must have been painful knowing and sending them off without saying anything, so many of them" she walk towards him, hey, were the experiments for the tracking devices done on someone's ear?"Emma ask, me and Ray were shock" what happen to that child? Or rather children? You didn't cause them to be shipper out early, did you?" she ask" you didn't sacrifice someone for our sake.. Did you?"she ask again, Ray stayed silent" actually never mind, I should be thanking you because now we can all escape together now. "

"What do you mean?" Ray ask "Its nothing, anyway ray" emma walk towards him and hold both of his hand "Don't ever do that again. You have us now, you dont have to keep everything to yourself" she said in a serious voice "I promise i won't do it again"

And the whole conversation was just us planing on what to do with the ropes.
