"Are we picking up Kelsey?" Rose asks boredly, wanting to change the subject.
"Yeah!" He says all happily, excited to see her.
It would warm Rose's heart at the way his face lit up if it wasn't in hibernation.
She takes a seat at the back of Uber, not really wanting to sit next to anyone and just scrolls through her phone, glancing up every now and then to check her surroundings.
Once the car stops presumably at Kelsey's house Rose puts her phone away, bored anyways of going into the same 3 fucking apps in a cycle.
She flashes her a fake, yet attempted smile as she climbs in the car offering everyone a "hey!"
Kelsey finds a seat next to Cody, a row behind Rose. She gives him a weary look silently asking if she's okay. Cody shrugs, mumbling a "I'll tell you later."
Opening up Instagram Rose is reminded of the selfie she took and moves her thumbs over the keyboard for a second, trying to think of a caption. Rose nearly chuckles at how dead inside she looks.

Rose chuckles when she sees Kelsey's comment, looking behind her and mumbles a thank you. Kelsey smiles in acknowledgment.
The group makes it to Jessie's house about 10 minutes later, everyone piling out of the car. Rose takes in the scene of the birthdays girl house and the fact at how packed it is. Rose wasn't aware that people could have that many fucking friends.
Marcus has the same reaction, knocking his shoulder with hers in commutation at the fact. Rose smiles, "sorry for earlier by the way" she says trying her best to sound sincere while they walk into together.
"It's okay Rose, I didn't even think about it like that."
"So I used the only apology I have and wasted it?" she jokes trying to distract herself from how uncomfortable she already is.
They follow Devon's lead all the way up to his girlfriend, wanting to wish her a happy birthday. Rose chuckles at how whipped Devon seems with her, finding it cute that he's finally settling down. Whatever that meant.
After wishing Jessie a happy birthday, Rose splits from the group heading to the kitchen. She always felt awkward without some drink in her hand knowing how weird it looks to just stand there, hands swinging.
