everyone was getting ready for tomorrow. we all decided it would be better if everyone stayed at my house the night then we headed to the campsite together because i live alone and it would be easier for tomorrow. and yes, i did talk to billie about when i was drunk and we both came to a conclusion to put it behind us. i honestly could not wait but everyone was focused on something else.

billie: come on, live a little

madison: no, i refuse to take even a sip of alcohol not even a teeny drop

finneas: okay, why not

madison: because unlike you people, i want to be sober for tomorrow.

billie: have one drink, and you won't even have to have another. simple as that

danielle: thing is, bil, when madison starts she won't stop

they all start laughing at me drunkily and i roll my eyes

madison: whatever it's-

i turn my phone on

madison: 11pm already? everyone sleep anywhere except the floor or in the bathtub and you'll be fine. goodnight

billie: i'm gonna have a few more drinks then i'll come up and join you, yeah?

madison: whatever eilish

she winks and i go upstairs, leaving everybody to play truth or dare together. i get in bed and not even five minutes later i'm asleep

billie

it was probably 1am and i sat with finneas in the kitchen. everyone went to bed and finneas' dumbass was trying to give me advil.

finneas: you and maddie hm?

billie: we're just friends

finneas: seems like you want more than a friendship billie

billie: yeah, but does she?

finneas: it's good that you take that into consideration.

billie: damn, is me liking her that obvious?

finneas: i mean, y'all met, kissed, slept in the same bed together, you tried to get some in front of all your friends-

billie: okay okay, we get it

finneas: it's only been a week?

billie: what do i do?

finneas: i'd say you give it a little bit of time, maybe a few more weeks or even months and just see what happens

billie: you know finn, even when you're drunk you give good advice

finneas: thank you, now take the advil

billie: i'll be fine

i get off the counter and walk upstairs after saying goodnight. i stumble into maddie's room and walk into the bathroom. i brush my teeth then walk into her room and sit next to her. i see a cup of water on the bedside table with advil next it and a note. 'please take the advil and water before you go to sleep, i don't want you waking up with a headache- maddie' i put the note down and do as it says before taking my shirt off and slipping into the covers. my arm slides around her waist and into her hoodie, rubbing her stomach out of habit and i kiss her shoulder then rest my head on the pillow. i open my eyes when i feel her moving and she faces me

madison: hi

billie: it's still the middle of the night go back to sleep

madison: i know i know, i was just waiting for you
