Y/N POV

"Do you wanna talk about it or do you just a distraction?" I ask him. This feels familiar.

"A distraction with be good" I notice he's cuddling he Minecraft bee.

"So, what do you do for your job?" I ask him, he suddenly looks nervous. There's a long pause

"Hey why don't we talk a bit about your boyfriend?" He quickly changes the subject

"Boyfriend?" Where did he get the idea that I had a boyfriend?

"Your boyfriend...You know, The short guy." Does he mean Howard?

     "Howard?" I ask him

"Yeah, him" when clay said "him" he sounded disappointed, what whe so upset about?

"Okay well HE is absolutely not my boyfriend." I emphasize 'he' like Clay emphasized 'him.'

"Last time I checked, you usually don't kiss people you're not interested in." He saw Howard kiss me, is that why he's upset? I was really hoping no one saw that.

"We'll he was the one who kissed me. Not the other way around. He is soooo not my type." I explain.

"Oh, so if he's not your type, what is?" He tilts his head towards me.

"My type? Hmmm. Physically, I like tall guys I guess. But I mostly care about personality" I never really thought about my 'type.'

"What kind of personality?" He asks me.

"What is this? An interrogation? Im just kidding. I don't know what kind of personality I'm looking for. I don't think you can choose a significant other by checking boxes off on a list." He seems really interested in what I'm looking for in a guy, I wonder if he's into me...

"I guess I agree with you on that one. But if you had to choose what traits your partner would have, what would your preferences be?" Oh my god, he's not gonna let this go.

"I guess I would want someone who's funny, a little mean but in a playful way, and has similar interests as me." I say, I try to think of a way to change the subject. My ego is gonna be way to inflated if I think he's interested in me.

"What are you interested in?" What is with all these questions. Well I guess we did just formally meet.

"I like video games, coding, robots...but you know that haha, I like knitting, and-"

"KNITTING?? Oh my God, You're like an old woman holy shit." He wheezes in between words. I roll my eyes trying not to give in to his contagious laugh.

"Shut up, I make myself cool sweaters, and I can make hats. What can you make?"

"Oh your so right Mabel, I can't make anything super cool like that." He keeps laughing at me. Yeah, he definitely doesn't like me like that.

"Mabel?? What kind of name?" I shove him a bit. He's clearly out of his sadness before.

"Yours, you old lady." He was probably about to keep clowning on me, but my mom walked in.

"Hey Y/N, make sure you get Clay settled in soon here, we're making dinner right now. Be down in 15-ish" Clay finally stops laughing at me, while my mom walks out.

"Oh yeah, so you'll be sleeping in here. I've cleared some drawers in my dresser for you. I can help you unpack, or I can leave you to it." I offered as I stand.

"I think I've got it, but I'll meet you downstairs when I'm done. Thanks for the room, and also a pretty epic robot battle today." he grabs my hand while I stand up and looks me in the eyes. I get a good look at his face. He's really attractive I'm not gonna lie. He's got fluffy, dark blonde hair and freckles dusted across his face from the sunshine in Florida. What really drew me in were his gorgeous Ivy green eyes. He lets go of my hand.

"Well, I'm gonna go see if my mom needs any help downstairs, you just let me know if you need anything though."

"Thank you, I appreciate it a lot" he smiles softly at me. I walk out of my room and downstairs. The smell of fettuccine Alfredo fills my nose as I approached the kitchen.

"That smells delicious, Mom." She turns around as I walk into the kitchen.

"Thank you, how's Clay doing?" She asks me

"It seems like he's settling in well, do you need any help?"

"Yeah grab that stack of plates and set the table."

"Sure thing" I grab the plates and set six places at the table for us all.
