Why Does Everyone Have a Million Secrets Now

"I'm really sorry! He- I-" He pushed the plate aside, putting his head on the table, muffling his speech as he buried his head in his arms. "I really tried..."

"And who is Glitch going to tell?!" He stood up, towering over Error, "I should never have given it to you!"

"I'm really sorry, I'll make it up to you-!"

"STOP APOLOGISING!"

"WELL WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?" Error yelled back, still keeping his head buried.

There was momentary silence as Four took a breath to calm himself.

"I want you to finish your lunch, and then I want you to tell me what was in the file. And then we're going to get it back."

Error looked up, nodding. "I'm sorry."

"Stop apologizing." Four repeated quietly, resting his face in his hand and looking away. "I shouldn't have given it to you. It's massively against the rules, anyway."

The dark skeletons said nothing, looking down at the table.

"Eat."

He reluctantly picked up the fork again.

"I've never seen anything that suggests we're going to treat Dream any differently to the rest of you," Four changed the subject swiftly.

"Then you've clearly never seen that file."

"All I know is that Dream scored seventy eight percent total on the particular test that information was based off. That was the highest any of you got."

"Is that good?"

"Hell yeah. You got a really good score too. You all did. Except for one of you, who got an okay score."

"Who was that?"

"Take a guess."

"I don't know. Me?"

"I just said you got a good score."

"Okay, then who?"

"Glitch."

Error almost choked, laughing. "Glitch? The worst score? I don't think so!"

"It makes sense when you look at it it properly. It's not a test of knowledge. It's more about emotional intelligence and the ability to deal with various situations. Glitch exhibited little empathy for others, he got forty three percent. And so did Nightmare, but Nightmare's job was suited to that." Four took another sip from the glass, "And that's only one part of the Divinity Test series, the emotional intelligence sector. Dream obviously came out on top, followed closely by Nightmare and Reaper. You come just after those two, who are equal with a score of sixty two percent. You come just after with fifty... eight? Nine percent? No, you were fifty eight, fifty nine is someone else."

"Who?" Error asked.

"I can't tell you."

"Do I know them?"

"Yes."

"Are they a God now?"

"No. Their highest qualifying scores were Death and Negativity, but Reaper and Nightmare were more suited to the roles. I think one person was... five percent off qualifying for Destruction. And by the way, the percentages I've been giving you have been overall scores," He paused and finished his drink, "You each also have an individual score for each position. And for these, seventy five percent is the pass mark. So your highest score was Destruction."

"And what was my Destruction score?" Error asked through a mouthful of noodles.

Four smiled. "You passed with one hundred percent."
