"Well...towards the end of Leighla and I's relationship I found out that she was pregnant.." I said.
Becky's eyes widened
"What." She said softly
"I'm sorry,I didn't tell you. I should've told you." I say to her felling guilty
"So where's the child." I asked him
"I was just about to get to that. She called me and said ' I'm bleeding' we went to the hospital. She had miscarried. That's when the whole scandal started." I say to her
"So you walked away because she had a miscarriage?" She asked me. I didn't really know how to respond so I just simply nodded my head
"Colby.. that shouldn't have been a reason for walk away." She told me
"I know. We haven't talked since. I thought it would just be best if I left her alone." I said
"So is that why you...umm..you know.. c-cheated on me?" She asked me
"Y-Yea,I was scared." I admitted to her
"We could have talked all this out. You had to face the consequences of lying. Imagine where we could have been NOW as a family,if you just told me the truth from the start. Just imagine Colby." She told me.
She was right we probably would've been married. We would have more children probably.
"I know. I wish I could change the past. But I can't,I have to live with the regret." I told her
Before she could even respond a Ding! Came through her phone. UNKNOWN: "The truth shall set you free..." becky read out loud.
"What do they even mean by that." She asked
"I dunno." I say
"I gotta get my number changed,I can't bare this anymore." She says.
"Yea. But hey,let's move on. Let's grow...together." I say Confidently
"It's really gonna take some time Colby. Being in the same space as you,let alone the same bed. Just takes me back to that night." She says
"Hey babe listen,I-.." I realized what I said and so did she
"I'm so sorry" I say to her.
No response. "Can you say something. It just came out." I say
"Y-Yea,don't tell me what to do for one. And for two, that word just doesn't have the same felling anymore. It's to me a dead word." She says
"I'm sorry." Was all I could say. I understood where she was coming from. But it still broke me heart,knowing I made her fell so bad. That a word that once meant so much to her... is now 'dead' to her.
"Mommy?" I hear
"Hi,my love. Good morning." Becky says to the little girl. Somehow Becky could see what she was felling. Because next she said
"Chels,what's wrong. What's bothering you?" She asked
"I heard it." She says
"Heard what??" Becky says alarmed
" You and him talking." She says
"Mommy and who?" I finally say
"Mommy and my step-dad" she says. My eyes widened. I look at rebecca her eyes widened as well.
"Chels,baby lets go talk. ALONE." Becky said
"HEY! No secrets in this house. She's my daughter too." I say
"Yea,I know she's your daughter. But I need to have a little heart to heart with her. Now if you would excuse us I have a conversation to get too." Becky says as she walks up the steps with Chelsea
I walk behind them, I see rebecca helping her brush her teeth do her hair and put in clothes.
They walked down stairs
"Where are y'all going?" I asks
"To have a heart to heart." She says
"But,why are y'all leaving? You can have it here I won't bother." I say knowing I wanted to hear the conversation
" I know we can,but we're not. We'll be back soon. Chelsea let's go!!" She says
Chelsea comes down and they leave.
I say there lost in my thoughts.. "what could they possibly be taking about that they can't discuss here?"....
