Greg's POV

Two months.

Two months of hiding. Lying. Sneaking. Secrets. Excuses. Running. Running. So much running. Running to her....and here I am. Still chasing her. Seeing her. In every aspect of myself. In everything I do. Always.

It's been two months since I've felt like I could finally breathe. Two months since I've started dating her. Luna.

My Luna

Of course there was always before her too. But I suppose at some point I had stopped lying, sneaking, holding secrets, making excuses, and running from Luna, and things had shifted to Conner and Amaya. Luna and I knew things wouldn't be easy.

But since when was dating your enemy ever easy?

3 Month Prior~~~~~~~~~~

"Oh Gregory" Conner chants from just outside my window. I peek out to find Amaya beside him before glancing back to my desk. I huff a sigh before throwing the rest of my things in my bag and slinging it over my shoulder, calling by to my mom, and slipping out the front door.

I turn from the door and stroll down the steps, nodding to my friends. We fall into step as I begin the walk to school.

"Sup guys," I respond, glancing at my phone and sending a quick text to Mom about tonight's plans. It's been getting more and more difficult to sneak out lately. Especially with my busy schedule, maintaining family appearances, and higher crime rates don't help much either. She's been getting more suspicious of me lately and the dark circles under my eyes after a supposed full nights sleep.

"New girl is coming today,"Amaya feigns nonchalance without looking up from her phone, her fingers swiftly moving across the keyboard.

"Hmm how intriguing," Conner hums with a practiced voice.

I internally sigh. Even an idiot can tell this conversation was staged. But despite their efforts, I remain quiet. This is nothing new. Ever since Connor and Amaya have begun dating, they've made it their personal mission to find me a girlfriend.

I know they mean well but honestly, I know it's their "discrete" way of trying to distance me without feeling guilty. Like I said, it's pretty hard to find personal time when dealing with school, families, and homework during the day, and fighting crime at night. It's a wonder where I find the time to sleep. And personally, I despise the third wheeling.

But in their minds, finding me a girlfriend would be helpful. It would keep me busy, and give them more time for each other without feeling guilty that I'm with them, or better yet, by myself. I snap back from these thoughts to Amaya's voice.

"Excited to meet her Greg?" Amaya smiles slyly, finally looking up from her phone to meet my eyes.

I hum noncommittally and feel my phone buzz in my pocket. I fish it out and find a response from Mom. My fingers move furiously across the screen as I argue back with her and her suspicions.

I feel Amaya frown at me and look to Conner. Conner shrugs before Amaya shoots him a pointed gesture. He sighs before turning to me with a grim expression.

"Greg I think what Amaya is getting at is that you used to always have a crush on a few girls" Conner says, glancing to me then my phone.

I quickly switch it off and turn my attention back to them with a skeptical look. "So?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Well now it seems like you've just lost interest in anyone really." Amaya finishes, sighing.

"Does it matter?" I say.
