"Akira Takahashi is a recurring character appearing in Toaru Kagaku no Code Vader [A Certain Scientific Code Vader. An ace detective celebrity, member of the Takahasi family, and a rival to Tedashii Hamasaki.

Appearance
Akira Takahashi shares similarities in appearance to Tedashii Hamasaki only differing by his unruly neck length reddish brown hair and reddish-brown eyes. However in vol 3 his hair been shortened appearing more similar in looks to Tedashii Hamasaki. Even having dimples just like Tedashii. Hisoka states he is what Tedashii would have been if Tedashii would to take better care of himself and ken a kindred personality, which in terms of popularity makes him seem far more attractive than Tedashii could ever be and calls him an handsome devil. Akira is also popular with the ladies proving that.

Trivia
• Akira character is inspired by many detective characters.
• A Theme Song for the detective prince is in development. The character's appearance was shown earlier and Zzz-Awakening couldn't wait to enter this character into the story.
• Akira's opinion on justice is similar to Tedashii's, however differs, one believe to secure among the light while the other invades in the dark. Akira could be the seen as the white knight while the other could be picture as the dark knight.
• Akira & Tedashii's relationship could be compared to rival/frenemy relationships.

As a resident of Academy City and student as all other students Akira Takahashi took part in the Power Curriculum Program becoming a Esper. So far in the series such as his introduction, He display no Esper power, in case the status of ability name and level are unknown.

Personality
Akira is a stereotype of that of what he believes heroes are he speaks strongly on the justification of what a hero should be and mocks those who believe there a hero when they fight in the dark using injustice methods. As a detective he is quite intelligent even predicting Tardy's an illegal group from using the urban legend site and investigating the areas and there acts. Tedashii even second guess himself if getting involved with Akira is a bright idea because of his kin detective abilities even considering the latter dangerous.

Akira is a very polite person even apologizing for things even when he's not at fault. Though he can say rude comments by being oblivious to his rudeness. Shown when he stated Vigilantes are cowards and claim Tedashii was easily manipulated (Only because he's being generally honest.)

Tedashii also claims Akira is the type to never come across others who told him no and doesn't take no for an answer. But despite their differences they are pretty alike and remind each other of themselves.

He also has a childish habit of collecting Gekota merchandise. Akira shown embarrassed of this interest and keeps it a secret. He was interested when he thought he found a fellow fan, and quickly close the subject when he founded out they weren't.

Similar to Hisoka, Akira has an interest in Urban legends even taking advantage of the rumors when necessary, it is questionable if he believes them or not.

Akira gain a interest for Tedashii after he disagreed with his idea of justice. The two don't agreed on the methods taken on justice and look down on each other's beliefs. Due to their striking similarities looks unlike Tedashii, Akira finds it interesting even calling Tedashii his doppelgänger.

Chronology

Background
So far not is known about Akira Takahashi expect that he's a famous detective from Nagatenjouki Academy of the Takahashi family. Known as the current favorite, he has accomplished solving many crimes before the start of Code Vader.

Akira was first mention in chapter 14, when a daihaseisai festival committee student reported the missing students who were target by tardy, and confirmed he is currently investigating.

Akira Takahashi first appeared asking for directions from Tedashii, Jeong-Min, Li Mei and Mara. He sparks up a small conversation after introducing himself. Before leaving he mistakenly took them for Gekota fans admittedly embarrassing himself. The group is puzzled as he closed the subject.

Akira appears once more to do a interview on his current investigation. He informs the audience and the anchor to beware of Tardy's actions and to report to Anti-Skill & Judgement. He then eventually goes on to calling them vigilantes. Claiming they and urban legend heroes are cowards. The second anchor went to ask someone of Akira's age, selecting an offended Tedashii, who disagrees with him live television. The to hypothetically speaks on the ideas of what the hero would do in regards his justice.
