Kihara Akuma is a character in the [Toaru Kagaku no Code Vader] A Certain Scientific Code Vader side stories. He is the primary antagonist of the Tree Diagram Arc. He was a past survival researcher of The Dark May Project, and serve as an arch nemesis to Tedashii Hamasaki. As an member of the Kihara Family, he displays a vicious nature just as the other members, Akuma could be considered one of the most evil out of the Kihara's in the series which earned his name as Scientific Devil.

Etymology

The akuma (悪魔) is a malevolent fire spirit in Japanese folklore. ... It is often translated to devil in English, or demon. Akuma is the name assigned to Satan in Japanese Christianity, and the Mara in Japanese Buddhism. This in a way compared to his nickname Scientific Devil, and Demonic son of a Bitch. Kihara Akuma first official appearance can also be a comparison as the dialogue is quoted "A malicious man appear from the shadows of death from hell appear before Tedashii Hamasaki, a flash from the past, a man of science. A certain scientific dark experiment, a certain scientific Kihara." This quote and scenario could be vision as a nightmare demon from the past, comes to hunt it's prey.
