twenty three

early the next morning kenzie went home to get ready for school. she got dressed and walked downstairs

kenzie- morning!

carson- *looks up from his phone* morning kenz!

kenzie- where's asher? 

carson- he stayed over at annie's 

kenzie- oh ok

they sat and ate in silence for a few minutes

kenzie- *awkwardly* hey cars?

carson- *looks up* yeah kenz

kenzie- *looks down in embarrassment* 

carson- *puts his phone down* hey look at me

she looks up at him 

carson- whats up kenzie?

kenzie- *nervously* c-could you come with me to the drug store? 

carson- uh yeah sure *confused* can't you go on your own 

kenzie- *muttering* i need someone over 18 to come with me

(let's pretend you have to be over 18 to buy birth control) 

carson- *narrows his eyes* why?

kenzie- promise not to make a big deal?

carson- sure 

kenzie- *muttering* i need to buy birth control 

carson- i- got to admit didn't expect that 

kenzie- please don't be mad at me 

carson- why would i be mad at you?

kenzie- *looks down* i dunno...

carson goes over to her and gives her a hug

carson- of course i'll go with you to get it 

kenzie- *smiles slightly* thank you cars 

they leave the house right after since they still had to go to school after. carson starts driving. they were driving in awkward silence for a while 

carson- you know you don't have to be scared to talk to me or ask me anything right 

kenzie- *looks at him* yeah i know...

carson- i'm your older brother, that's what i'm here for 

kenzie- *smiles at him* i basically grew up with you and ash as like my parents, and i never really had mom around to help me through all the teenage things

carson- i know it was hard for you

kenzie- all my firsts i talked to you and asher about. but i don't wish differently, i love talking to you two. you give the best advice and you're always there for me 

carson- *smiles* when we were like 13 and 14 i remember having a talk with asher about protecting you and making sure you were comfortable talking to us. through the years though i never knew if you were ok talking to us since we were both boys...

kenzie- at first it was kind of hard since i basically only had you two to talk to about growing up and it's not like you guys knew a lot about girls puberty but i got used to it after a while and started to talk to you guys more

carson- *smiles* i love you sis 

kenzie- *smiles back* love you too cars 

carson- we're here 

they both get out of the car and go to the section with condoms and pregnancy things. kenzie grabs a bottle of morning after pills and regular birth control pills

carson- *throws her a pack of condoms* here take these too *smirks* unless you two are going raw from now on 

kenzie- *rolls eyes and takes the box from him* shut up 

they go to the register and pay for the condoms and pills. they get in the car and kenzie takes one of the morning after pills 

carson- make sure you and johnny are being safe 

kenzie- *rolls eyes* ok carson thank you 

he laughs and drives them both to school
