new school, new start, new friends. exactly what me and my brothers needed. we didn't have a bad life until our parents split. after that, constant family emergencies, arguments, fights, and just a hard time. my dad basically ditched us after everything went down with the divorce. he left without a note, goodbye, or anything. me and my brothers and my mom moved to los angeles from new york for a fresh start. i had just finished unpacking my things. i sighed and lied down on my bed. my mom had left earlier for a job interview and my brothers were probably in the kitchen or their bedrooms. i heard the doorbell ring so i got up and went to the front door. i opened it

"uh hi can i help you?" i ask the girl who was standing at the door 

"hi, i'm your neighbor right there" she says pointing at her house next to ours

"oh ok" i say

"i'm jayden orlando" she says to me smiling 

"mackenzie ziegler" i say smiling back "you can call me kenzie or kenz" 

"okay kenzie" she says "do you want to come to my house to meet my brother?"

"umm sure, why not. could i bring my brothers?" 

"sure!" she says 

"yo carson, asher, get over here we're gonna meet the neighbors" 

then both walk out the door and we walk over to jayden's house and she opens the door. they had a nice house, like really nice. everything was very tidy and neatly placed. there was a fountain in the entry way too! 

"wow nice house" says carson looking around

"thanks" says jayden smiling 

"JOHN COME DOWNSTAIRS, WE HAVE NEW NEIGHBORS" she yells 

"OKAY COMING" a voice yells from upstairs

a teenage boy came down the stairs. he looked a lot like jayden. dirty blonde hair, emerald green eyes. he had a champion hoodie on and black jeans

"john this is mackenzie, carson, and asher" 

he smiles at us "hey i'm johnny" 

"mackenzie, you can call me kenzie or kenz" 

"carson" 

"asher" 

"nice to meet you johnny" says asher 

"same, nice to meet y'all" johnny says 

third person pov

they all go sit in the living room and start to get to know each other

"how old are y'all" ask jayden 

"well me and asher are twins we're 17" says kenzie "and carson is 18" 

"okay cool" says jayden "me and johnny are twins, we're 17 also" 

"darn im the only one not a twin" says carson 

"oh poor you" says asher sarcastically 

they all keep talking and getting to know each other

"hey do y'all want to go to the park with us later?" ask johnny

"ooo yeah, we're going with some of our friends" says jayden 

kenzie carson and asher all look at each other 

"sure why not" says carson 

"okay great, 5pm" says johnny 

the zieglers leave the orlando's house and go home for a few hours before they go to the park

johnny pov

the zieglers just left our house and now it was just me and jayden on the couch 

"so what do u think of them" says jayden 

"yeah i like them they seem cool" i say 

"yeah they are cool, super nice" jayden says 

"yeah" i say
