there's is a lightness to you i hope the world never steals. your candor is not born from innocence, your smile is not crafted by naivety, nor your tenderness a result of your ignorance. your love is a loud rebellion and your soft nature is in itself a battle cry. those more calloused have tried to scrub away the virtues that abound from you like blood escaping an open wound and you have yet to stitch those scrapes.
your heart is marred but with every beat of your pulse, you choose a gentler demeanor as to not inflict the violence that you once knew intimately. it is a testament to your strength of will. i hope that vulnerability is invincible. i hope you are insurmountable. i hope you are never stripped of that stumbling hope that has yet to meet its limits. i hope those who would dare to contend it fail in every sense of the word.
